Great news I didn't want dead Bellew.
Bellew does have a small window but if he loses it could devastate him

I think he's also just not willing to wait around for 3-4 fights whilst Fury fights bums to get back in the swing of things.

Bellew just wants one more huge fight.

The Ward fight is the perfect one for him.....

Good final payday, and if he somehow pulled it off, he goes down as an ATG.

I think he wants a final fight which gives him a decent last payday, so he knows he's going to be the underdog.

Ward/Fury are great fights for him.

Imagine if he fought one and miraculously won......

    Tony Bellew P4P ATG.

The fact nobody can see Bellew winning that fight is exactly what gives him a chance haha.

You're in the heavyweight division, Tony. Don't make excuses.

That's true, but if you confront Bellew I'm sure he'd be the first to admit it.

And at the end of the day what's so bad about what he's doing? Bellew isn't in boxing to build a legacy or gain the undying respect of fans. He's been very upfront about that. Fans can choose to watch him or not, and a lot of them choose to do so in spite of his frank aspirations.

He's definitely much smarter than he's giving credit for.

Bellew saying would fight Fury but only if the bout happened soon.
Now that not such a silly idea if Bellew looking for a final big money fight.

Fury to date has not fought competitively for over two and a half years so not likely to be back to level was previously, wheras Joshua/Wilder kept active, likewise Bellew would be underdog so has nothing to lose regarding his standing in boxing if was beaten.

He's got a similar level of savvy as Fury himself, though like Fury's it's hidden under an acerbic and loutish personality that leads people at first glance to think he's nothing but a graceless thug. Bellew's a smart man, and he knows how to play the game. Good luck to him, says I.

This. Cunningham is smaller than Bellew and was several years older and stepped in the ring with an undefeated Mansour and Tyson Fury.

Adamek, Orlin Norris, and even Bert Cooper also had no problem fighting any heavyweight despite being tiny compared to Bellew, who is 6'3", which actually isn't small at all.

Bellew is ranked #4 in the heavyweight division right now, so he should either cash out with Joshua, since I don't see anybody at cruiserweight he can make money with and even if Ward comes out retirement I don't see the fight bringing in much money either.

I would and I imagine plenty of other people would pay to see Bellew against Wilder or Joshua, or even Whyte, but I can't imagine anybody wasting good money on seeing Ward easily school Bellew for 12 rounds.

I think he wants Ward because he'd be going up two weight classes and supposedly he has a niggling problem with his knee. I doubt he comes back, though. I think only for similar money he got vs Kovalev. Ward doesn't sell like a David Haye or Tyson Fury.

Bellew is an odious creature in how he conducts himself. He's not THAT bad of a boxer as he's underrated but not elite. Bellew just wants some sort of ''advantage''. He's hoping Fury looks awful and i think it's likely he'll eventually try to ''cash out'' against him.

I think it's Fury (depending on how he looks), Parker or Whyte on the horizon.

Bellew is ranked #4? Who by?

It's laughable the WBC has him as high as #7......

    He shouldnt even be ranked.

Bellew is a small cruiserweight. If he wasn’t then he wouldn’t be able to make cruiserweight while being flabby and he wouldn’t have been able to make 175 while in his 30s.

Bellew at 175= 190lbs in the ring and skinny

Bellew at 200 or heavyweight= 210lbs in the ring and a bit flabby

His ideal weight is probably bang on 200lb, he would’ve done well in the era where CW was 190
