Like, come on, Vulcano, bruh, you're about 2 (if not 3) decades too old to be doing that.

(let alone thrice; a couple during the ring intros and then I think I spied another during the anthems!)

I think it was for the benefit of his kid that was standing next to him.

 

Round 1

Geografo is jumping in and looping rights into the side of the head, working a short knifing left jab into the opposite temple when Spada leans/ducks to his right to ride the first punch. Spada is staying low, applying pressure on the jittery youth, ducking & weaving beneath the busy light jab, working the body. Geografo tumbles from a clinch, down, slip. Spada is caught by a chopping left hand as Geografo shifts to southpaw on the backfoot. Spada is bowling in hip shots from behind the back, dragging his fists like a ball-and-chain. Geografo is hurt by a rabbit punch in the clinch and spun from a corner, Spada just rag-dolling him. Geografo is pecking very lightly with the jab, unable to hold Spada off, then bunches his forearms to dive in and lean on him.

He’s about two decades too old and two years too late lmao but if it was for the kid with him, then I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt

 

Also you kinda have to give the Euros a break with the American pop culture, stuff catches on there on a significant delay even now in the globalized age of the Internet.

 

Round 2

Geografo is swapping turns with his elder, both spearing each other into the ropes or corner and then brawling at close-range and smothering them. Lots of forearm use, wrist laces grinding against either man's face, Spada is cut. Their favorite wrestler must be Goldberg or Rhyno because they are spamming the "gore" move, ramming their shoulders into each other's abdomen to position the recipient against the first solid buttress they hit. Spada is a bit stronger with the move, able to push Geografo across the full length of the ring, and exploding with ferocious overhanded combos upon landing. Geografo is, however, RIPPING the champ with right hands from outside, delivered both straight & strapping from a high side angle.

Round 3

Geografo is spiraling wide and getting hammered on the body when he slows down and gets caught against the ropes. Spada is using the right like a sledgehammer into the ribs, slung out sidelong while diving in from ring center. Geografo is switching between the southpaw and orthodox stances now, pelting the chin of Spada with jabs on the way in and occasionally turning him while drilling home with a right or left cross. Geografo is playing matador quite well, despite Spada's best raging bull impression, head down, horns out, charging hard.

Spada is cut in several places now. His cheek is pure carnage, gobs of Vaseline all over it.

 

Crazy pace being set here. Spada's face is starting to fall apart and that's lent some urgency to his work.

 

Round 4

Geografo is sticking largely with the lefty stance now, dancing around, sprinkling in right jabs. Geografo is hit with several hard corkscrew rights on the body. Spada just selling out and falling in with heavy body shots, then grabbing and shaking Geografo in a crocodilian death roll. Geografo is scoring at better than a 2:1 clip, albeit mostly gentle tickles with the southpaw jab, while Spada is rattling his cage with partially blocked overhand rights and nearly doubling him over with body shots. Occasionally the jab is used to set up an extended flurry by Geografo, even sitting down on some looping rights that spin the head of the champ around.

Round 5

Geografo is letting his gloves droop to hang by his inner thigh, a bit of Maravilla impersonation. Spada can't pare down the gap and is getting CLOCKED with counters as Geografo draws the pail up the well and swings fast & loose. Geografo targeting Spada's cut left eye with chopping & looping rights at mid-range as Spada comes flying at him with big axe-drops with both hands. Frequent headbutts. Ref calls a break and then some absolute chaos ensues. Neither combatant seems clear on what the instructions are. Geografo walks up and COLD-COCKS his opponent, who is standing with his arms down. PROTECT YOURSELF IN THERE, ALWAYS! Spada looks more annoyed than hurt. The poor ref has no idea wtf is happening or what to do. He gives up and calls time in. Geografo is landing better in the exchanges but Spada is throwing with murderous intent.

There was a good half minute there where I was left wondering "is this over? Why are the principals in the ring, all three of them, just standing there? Is this a DQ or KO? What is HAPPENING?!?!?!"
