The stupidest thing a commentator has ever said.

Merchant had some interesting things to say and often was philosophical about boxing in a way most commentators aren't but I felt it way out of bounds to challenge Floyd the way he did, saying that if he were younger he would kick Floyd's @ss. Just way of out of bounds. Many of us may feel a particular way but we don't allow it to make us become what we despise. Merchant was wrong to inject himself into the scene rather than report on it.

 

Actually the Kirk Johnson I knew in Dallas, prior to hem being blatantly robbed by John Ruiz & Joe Cortez, would indeed have given Vitali all he could handle. The way they robbed him of the WBA HW title broke his heart. He was in there with Vitali purely for a final paycheck Wayyy overweight & under trained

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Lampley is bi-polar. He gets so emotional at times. Have you ever noticed how he tears up and almost starts crying when he is talking about some fighters? It makes me uneasy. I get the raw emotion boxing brings and the hardships many fighters have had to endure but come on, Jim, stiff upper lip.

Mauro Ranallo is the worst announcer I've ever heard. And I'm including all sports, especially baseball where there are a lot of guys that wouldn't be announcing except there are so many baseball teams they have to supply anyone...and there's radio as well as TV so each team has at least 4 men or women doing play by play. After 7 months and 162 games their voices really wear on you.

Yankees radio has an old woman who say things your mother would say. She's just behind Ranallo. Texas Rangers TV guy Raymond is just behind her for the #3 spot.

 

I like Lampley, usually, but how awful was that.
