    Round 1 Adames 10-9
    Round 2 Adames 20-9
    Round 3 Barrera 10-9, close
    Round 4 Adames 10-9
    Round 5 Adames 10-9
    Round 6 Adames 10-9

Adames switching stances now, beating him from both sides.

I was just asking someone the other day if anyone actually went to Arby's. They've had the lowest popularity of any of the big fast food chains, but they've been around my whole life. McDonalds is like fine cuisine to them. Obviously, someone has been eating there, despite their reputation. I just don't know any.

Wait, how was Rios anymore of a zombie getting stopped by Azat, that when he wasn't getting stopped by Rey?

If Barrera had more power he could be winning the fight, but he doesn't, and I only have him winning the third.

Adames does not look like a star.

    Round 1 Adames 10-9
    Round 2 Adames 20-9
    Round 3 Barrera 10-9, close
    Round 4 Adames 10-9
    Round 5 Adames 10-9
    Round 6 Adames 10-9
Round 7 Adames 10-9, very close

Adames traded more that round, Barrera did very well, but the heavier shots from Adames did more damage.

Just finished work. Adames has some tools, including the ability to switch hit, but seems quite content to coast, and allowed the reasonably useful Barrera to out-hustle him for extended stretches in the 7th.

Because he is the kind of fighter with an extremely short-burning fuse of a prime, given his style, and is already past the crest of diminishing returns, and had logged another 22 rounds of wear and tear when he stepped in vs. Hov compared to when he stepped in versus Rey, and because you could just plain look at the man during both performances to realize that, yes, he aged RAPIDLY "overnight" between August of last year and March of this. Night and day, COMPLETELY different fighter. Basic plodder last August, but dead man walking this March.

Sort of like how Mike Alvarado was still a certain vaguely useful type of fighter in Ríos I & II and versus Provodnikov, but just a year and change later in Ríos III was a shot to bits zombified shell of himself.

This guy is nothing special... unless he is completely disregarding his opponent.
    He gets hit too much

Adames 40-36 of the rounds I've seen (4rd-7th).

Ale's one tough nut to crack. (if you aren't Errol Spence Jr., apparently)

Whatever happened to Rocky, just wanting to go the distance, and prove that he belongs there, that he won't submit, standing tall, sticking it out through the good and the bad, showing what you're worth? I can't stand quitters. This is a test of manliness. It's not just about hurting other people, it's showing that you don't care about getting hurt. That's what separates it from track or basketball, the endurance and fortitude.

I respect a guy who gets knocked out, a no hoper who goes out on his shield more than a quitter, who waves the white flag, gives up, and surrenders at the first sign of adversity. One of the greatest things about this sport are the guys who find something extra inside themselves and come back. That's the most thrilling thing there is, when you get off the mat and win.

Strangely, I thought he looked better in the first round, even though it was debatable that he won it. But that's probably just because he kept himself a bit more compact. Didn't see as many of these wasted punches and got caught less. Seems to think he has more power than he actually does and, a decent engine apart (prefaced, of course, by the fact he's in with a pillow-fister), I'm not seeing much to write home about.

Comeback for Barrera, winning the eighth rather clearly! Solid minute of pounding Adames on the ropes. Is the unbeaten fighter gassed? :dunno

Did he really get hit flush though in the head? He landed mostly body shots and some grazing/short punches from what I remember.

4-1 Adames on my incomplete card.

I'll use CST's as my reference for rounds 1-3, so 78-74 Adames.
