Atlas said afterwards that Lomachenko may not want to move up another division to fight Garcia.

That's probably good advice, at least for now.

I don't think anyone Loma's size can beat him, but when you start getting into bigger guys then you are taking risks.

Every fighter has limits and it's up to them to know them and stay within them. I'm sure Lomachenko learned some things tonight in that regard.

Big props to Linares. He did a good job.

I think I had it 87-83, I have to look again. But yeah, about the same score that I had also.

It’s called a irrelevant stat. Once again let’s play a game of “CONTEXT”. Dude is 30 and his last 2 fights were against one guy moving up 2 weight classes and another moving up a weight class after an “L”.

Plus dude has the gift of superb matchmaking on his side. Regardless. Tonight s fight shows you why they match make for this guy so carefully. Mickey Garcia beats Loma, probably KO’s him. Nuff said.

Mikey might be too big for Lomachenko. Atlas seemed to think that might be the case after the fight.

As far as the "irrelevant stat," the guy fought 12 rounds (for a minor belt) in his first pro fight. Who does that?

He deserves credit, even if you think he's overhyped.

He's an incredible talent. Also, I give him credit because he was not afraid to fight a larger men and go for another belt in a higher division.

Great fight credit to both men. Had Linares a point up at the time of the stoppage but it was very close so can’t argue with any of the official scorecards. First two rounds were tight, felt that Loma took control and won the next 3 and was winning the 6th up until the knockdown. Knockdown shifted momentum and brought Linares back into the fight. I think in a rematch Lomachenko probably makes the better adjustments and wins again so would rather see him fight Mikey Garcia.

Agree with just about all of this.

I don't know if Lomachenko will be rushing to fight Garcia after this fight. We'll see.

He’s 30 years old bro. Who does that? Look at Mickey. He’s a 4 weight class champ and he’s younger. And he beat Salido lmao

How about fastest 3rd weight class fighter with an “L”. Fastest 3 class weight fighter to get dropped. He might hold the record for all those as well. Regardless, I don’t want to hear this guy being mentioned with Floyd Mayweather who would’ve knocked him the **** out.

There’s too many fanboys on this board and said fanboys give dudes too much credit before they earn it. Look what Manny and Floyd accomplished at 30. Being fast tracked at like 26/27 isn’t that great of a accomplishment especially when your last 2 fights were very poor. It’s about time he fought a larger opponent btw. That’s how you really become a true p4p great. Not this agenda bar set low nonsense fighters get away with today.

Marriaga and Rigo were both mismatches. Bout time they tried not to be so calculated for once and actually keep it up. If you win without advantages, then I give dudes credit. It’s that simple.

I cannot see how you could have Linares up in the scorecards... rewatch the fight please on 0.25 speed and see how many shots were blocked by Loma

Tony Canzoneri three weight champion unified featherweight, unified lightweight, and unified light welterweight titles age 22. Lomachenko WBO featherweight, WBO junior lightweight, and WBO lightweight champion age 30. Fastest.

Yeah, bout the same amount of time it took Canzoneri to do it without the 400 amateur fights. Canzoneri collected ALL OF THE BELTS and over a larger weight spread while he was still 22 years old. Loma took 8 more years. He can still hang his hat on that greatest amateur thing though.
