Serge i believe whole wholeheartedly that given a chance The Tartan Tornado would destroy Mikey Garcia! nevermind King Loma.

Compubox says Linares outlanded Lomachenko in 5 rounds, 1 even. Maybe, not everything you thought was landing actually landed. Round 9 was 29 to 18 for Linares.

Final punchstats 207 for Linares 213 for Lomachenko, 38.7% to 42.6% close close fight.

Couldn't say it any better, man. Floyd was a prodigy, Stevie Johnston seemed like he'd had 50 title fights worth of experience, Corrales was a physical freak, and Spadafora was actually good at that point (and fighting in his hometown). Some guys just can't take that last step, and with Diablo, it seemed like there was always something just keeping the top out of reach from him.

I dunno, I thought it was a good fight. Both guys came to fight, no quitters, both got knockdowns, and it ended the way dare I say most expected?

I'm not going to suffer any cognitive dissonance on account of you throwing stats from CUB in my face, sorry. I trust my own eyes more than I trust in those guys'. (and they are only human, just like us - and I've probably watched more boxing than anyone in their employ)

JT just might well be Scottish Loma. Imagine The Tartan Tornado lost and then came back as a 2.0 fighter :scared1

Me either. I didn't think he would believe in himself enough to even do that. A damn shame a guy waits several rounds into a fight to let his hands go enough to do some damage. When Linares let his hands go in rounds, he won them. When he sat back being lackadaisical, he allowed Lomachenko to outwork him.

They ignored everything Linares did and think everything Lomachenko threw landed.

He was kind of that generation's answer to Ruben Castillo, who was an excellent contender who had to face Arguello, Sanchez, Julio Cesar Chavez and a hard-punching, hyper-motivated Juan LaPorte (also fighting at home) in his championship challenges. Kind of a daunting task, no?

Compubox numbers are crap. Even if they're telling the truth and those stats were correct. Compubox is telling it wrong way. Don't pay attention to it.

For someone who's watched that much boxing you sometimes come across loke YDKSAB.

The fight was very close. Im a bigger Loma fan than you and I can admit it was even until the KO.

Linares is a great talent and would be a great fighter. Maybe even an ATG if he wasnt packing glass.

Great shout, I'd actually forgotten about Castillo. Good grief. It's not like it's ever "easy" to win a world title, but damn lol

Corrales needed to be 135 in May fight. He was drained in 130. Not saying he'd beat Floyd, ofc not. Floyd loses at 130 to Loma just out of pure maturity reasons. In 135 it's more competitive.
