A few people on here don't seem to recall that Gamboa made Crawford do the funny man step after landing a right hand.

You may well be right, I only watched it the one time. Maybe Bud was paying for his hubris, then. The main thing I remember is that Bud seemed more lazy with his defense early on while he was figuring Gamboa out, so I figured Bud must've decided Gamboa couldn't "really" hurt him.

If more boxers had three hundred something amateur fights, then six fights post amateur against solid opposition under pro rules, that for some reason aren't considered pro fights, then I think you would see more boxers accomplish a similar feat. Loma is a real talent though, and one can only give him props. Beating Linares was a step in the right direction for solidifying his resume after all the padding Arum has given him.

Crawford way too big for Loma, it’s not about skills , chin, power, footwork , it’s just about size and yes bud is much bigger than loma is

Padding? 12 fights with wins over Linares, Russel, Walters, Rigondeaux (yeah I know moved up and was 37) still a historic night.

That’s not padding that’s daring to be great. And yeah Lomachenko is the greatest amateur of our lifetime so his learning curve as a pro will be shorter than most fighters - still what he is doing is remarkable.

Egh that sounds like Golovkin vs Bellew, there is way too big difference between size.

Crawford by KO. He has just as fast hands and he has way more power. Also more precise imo. I know compubox has Loma’s accuracy out of this world but when I watch his fights, he misses a lot of punches.

Rodriguez, Koasicha, Marriaga, Martinez, on the shelf for a year Walters, Rigondeaux two weight classes smaller etc. That's called padding. He beat his best opponent right after the Salido loss.

Crawford punches much harder than linares and hes a mean sob if he would have dropped loma like linares he would have jumped back on him immediately.

Yeah when he schooled Russell the former ESPN prospect of the year. Walters was on the shelf for 11 months at age 30 that’s no big deal. And he fought the regular two times a year most top fighters fight the preceding year.
    Padding is Deontay Wilder.
All the guys Loma fights had stellar records. You can’t make big fight after big fight right out of the box. How many people state side even knew who Loma was, you gotta build a fighters appeal to market them when they are such a special talent.

You tell me who has a better resume after 12 fights???
    I’ll wait

Russell Jr., and Linares wins, with a loss to Salido. Walters had done jack **** at 130 prior to being on the shelf for a year. Marriaga had just lost at featherweight in a war. Rigondeaux had fought twice in 10 years was 45, and moved up two weight classes for a bout he was outweighed by 15 pounds. I'm pretty sure I could go dig up some lighter weight fighter that has a comparable resume after 12 fights.

Gamboa from the Crawford fight beats Loma let alone Crawford. Salido is still Loma's best opponent and Gamboa handled him. Loma did what was expected with Linares, who was a huge stepup from the poor competition he had been fighting since his loss to Salido. If Loma now beats Easter and Mikey he'd be one of top 10 p4p.

Easter has been looking like trash lately. Not sure Linares isn't a better win. Hopefully Garcia gets Easter out of there.

I'm pretty sure you're close to alone in the opinion that Loma isn't even top ten P4P at this point.
