Linares did land some good stuff but certainly not more power punches than Loma... Compubox has a tendency to score punches that land of arms on gloves and there were plenty of them from Linares, I bet he landed 60% of what the Compubox showed, we will have to wait for Artorias boxing to make a vid on the punch count, he is a reliable source of punch count

Rises even though he showed vulnerability. The fact that he could be KD'd and come back and KO a bigger, stronger fighter shows his grit and skills.

No question Loma was getting hit but the flurries were sporadic. If Linares could have maintained punch output and kept the pressure on he had a shot at winning this. But we knew this going in. We knew Linares' ticket to win this fight was pressure. He just couldn't maintain it though he did well in spots. To Loma's credit, Linares couldn't maintain it because Loma was doing enough damage.

If that knockdown punch had not affected Chenko he would not have gone into the defensive mode for the remainder of that round.

Definitely goes up. This was a very tough matchup and he proved that he can overcome adversity. I don’t know if it is a good idea for him to go any higher than 135 though.

Again, you have idiots saying Linars landed nothing. That's what I'm commenting on. As far as compubox is concerned, some guys use it to their advantage like you are doing now. If Loma landed more, you would use Compubox to argue why Loma or who your favorite fighter is, won the fight. In this case you say Compubox is inaccurate to diminish what Lineras did. Not happening, I have eyes and I've been watching boxing for 4 decades now and coming to this fight since 2005, I know what I'm talking about.

Absolutely, Linares was a live opponent, and certainly forced Loma to work hard for his win.

But I fully agree with this. I was there tonight, and there was no way in my view that Linares outlanded Loma with power punches at any point. The knockdown was legit, and certainly forced him to change things up for a while, and Linares had a few moments, especially in the later rounds where he put on some good pressure, but overall, I thought Loma landed more, with more quality. He deflected and slipped a lot of close stuff, and simply looked more effective.

their faces told a story. the lily white (the paler you are, the more damage shows) softer punching guy moving up, had far less damage to the face.

He was cautious in the next round too. Hell he kept a high guard threw most of the next round.

I don't think he was hurt much, but for the next round he was cautious. He's not dumb.
