I said... too big, and too awkward. I would have really considered going with Ali had I thought Munguia was some one dimensional plodder, he's got enough wrinkles in his game to land clean on decent defensive fighters, frequently, that alone shows he's not some goofball who blocks punches with his face.

The guy can't help but make himself look and sound like an idiot, it seems.

He and Teddy Atlas are like two peas in pod in that regard.

Max >>>>>> Teddy. But he still isn't a boil on the ass of Al Bernstein (although even Al has some awful nights here and there)

Yeah, that was dumb as ****. My picks vacillate between what is probable and what is possible, tonight the outcome was highly probable, a lucky punch last night, was vaguely possible, and I should never go with that, ever.

Menard is right up your alley, the kind of guy that you attach sentimental rooting interest to, I saw right through your picking him over Haney as purely emotional. When you apply rational critical thinking your picks are generally spot-on.

I actually feel pretty bad for Ali, he's really no elite but he's a really nice guy lol.

At least he won a world title in his last fight.

Never had a dog here but not surprised at all.

If you get knocked out by Jessie Vargas, you're definitely very vulnerable to someone like Manguia who punches like a mule.

That was a straight up beating. Ali was always vulnerable to pressure, but this guy just bullied him from the opening bell. Munguia is a force at 154.

Thanks. Yeah, a word to the wise, everyone should ignore me when it comes to mindless sluggers I have soft spots for. And unfortunately, over the last month there's been a lot of guys like that fighting. So I've really looked horrible. I smacked myself around and tried to right the ship yesterday though. The Menard pick was suicidal.

Of course you do, he's a Libra like you.:deal: But the only reason he kept getting back up is because he had his Moon and Mars in Aries.:ggg

Wait, IB's Moon is in Aries, maybe that's why IB has a soft spot for him as well. As do I actually. I really respect the hell out of Ali, he shows incredible heart and will, most fighters only wish they had his willpower and determination.

That's actually why I completely disregarded you picking Munguia over Ali, figured it was the same thing, never occurred to me it was based on real analysis.

I should've watched some footage. That awkwardness combined with the size and heavy-handedness was ten shades of wrong for Sadam. :ohno

Nah, I actually personally like Sadam more than Munguia, I just knew like you said, he was a terrible stylistic matchup for him, same with Azat tonight, I don't love Azat or Vargas all that much, so I could be dispassionate there as well.

The thing is, Ali can at least say he was the last man to beat The Great Miguel Cotto, wouldn't say he ended his career because he would have retired anyhow but still.

Nothing to be ashamed of, he's just not going to last at 154. Too many hitters and big men there.

Took me by surprise. I didn't realize he could punch that hard.
