By claiming he won this fight easily.
It was competitive and in terms of the significant punches that made you go "oh!!" Linares was giving as good as he was taking from Loma right until the end.

Loma looked like he just went through a near death experience when they showed his face right after the stoppage. Heknew he had been in a toughone.

Loma is probably p4p #1 now but Linares deserves his respect and Loma fans are creating "Loma haters" by overplaying and exaggerating the ease with which he won, the same way the GGG fans created Golovkins naysayers by claiming he was an ATG before he even fought Jacobs.

When you say outrageous things like that, people will think "now hold ona second you're exaggerating, it's too early to say that" and they will "oppose"that fighter, not because they don't like him but because thatfighters fans are just getting overexcited.

A Real ATG doesn't need internet fans to proclaim he's an ATG, it willbeobvious to everyone who watching. I believe that's the case withLoma but his fans are setting other people up for disappointment by over hyping him

Linares did lands some fantastic shots on Lomas arms and gloves, probably about 70% of his punches in the fight
Also his shoulder injury might have played a part

Lomachenko was winning the fight easily until the flash knockdown, he won the 6th round also except for the flash knockdown, but proved he has a good chin, he started to come back in the 7th, the started dominating again. Lomachenko was winning the fight on points at the time of the stoppage, although Oscar owned the judges, and you do know that Trella is as corrupt as they come.....................Lomachenko's knockout was very impressive and he is a fighter who learns with every fight. He will be even better next fight.................this was only his 12th fight!!!!!!!! He holds a record now!!!!!!!

    Compubox Linares 207 landed
    Lomachenko 213 landed.

I think we can all agree the average Linares shot is harder.

Get over it guys, Lomachenko had a competitive fight. Everyone does.

Of course they can be wrong but the point is the fight was competitive.
I wouldn't have Linares up, but anything until 85-85at the time of the stoppage is within a reasonable range.

For me the clean effective punches countand all the footwork and tapping set-upsand distractions dont count in scoring even if they can(and in this case were) a useful tool forsettingup a big shot.

Same reason why I had Hopkins beating calzaghe. 99% of what Calzaghe landed was just not a legitimate "clean effective punch". Even if Calzaghe is a much more extreme example andLomachenko is obviously very capable of putting someone on the seat of their pants unlike Calzaghe at the end of his career.

If you only count the shots with bad intentions then the fight was very close and imo that is almost indisputable. If you count footwork and taps/feints then different story

If "haters" are created by overhyping boxers by their biggest fans, then they would probably hate every well known boxer today.

    But that's not what's happening.
Those haters usually didn't like the boxer in question anyway, and/or is a rival of one or more of the boxers they do like.

Maybe, but the Mike Tyson mega fans for example just get the Tyson haters even more riled up. Same thing with Leonard back in the day and more recently with both Mayweather and Pacquiao. Maybe it starts with some animosity but the back and forth between the fanboys and the haters makes the feelings just way more passionate and escalates the hate until one or both "sides" just become blinded by it

Dont use compubox as a way to judge a fight, they are corrupt and inaccurate. Especially with Golden Boy involved, all I saw last night was Loma blocking 90% of punches

The fight was a competitive but near Lomachenko shut out, it happens. Just because Linares, who I'm a massive fan of, and wouldn't have been bummed in the least had he pulled off the victory, landed a few heavy blows on Loma and managed to drop him once, doesn't mean that Lomachenko was ever in serious trouble or at risk of falling behind in the match. He landed far more per round, was defensively far more sound, and outclassed him consistently. No one is denigrating Linares, he did marvelously, but I also think he's being given more credit than he deserves precisely due to how infallible Loma has looked in the past, Rigo didn't land hardly a clean shot the entire fight, so when Linares lands 3 or 4 per round, everyone has a "holy ****" reaction, and scores the round incorrectly in his favor, virtually ignoring the 20 shots Loma landed on him. There would be no need to overhype or defend so vociferously if it weren't for the copious agenda drive haters on the web, that are solely dedicated to running every fighter they have some biased fueled vicious hang up with down, by any means necessary.

Loma beat Linares by both outboxing him in almost every round and eventually stopping him with a beautiful liver shot, no one has ever beaten Linares by outboxing him, they beat him because his skin fell apart, Loma is the first man to beat him and beat him comprehensively.

I’m a Loma fan and think he was ahead on points before the KO, but it was not easy , fight was competitive.
