I think Lomachenko beats him on points, what do you reckon? I know he's had a vast amateur career but he's a newbie to the pro game, this fight will be a valuable lesson to him.
I’m leaning towards Garcia. Although I can see Loma outpointing him with his speed and elusiveness, I feel like he won’t have the durability to skate by.
Saddler roughs him up worse than Salido, stops him 13-15th rounds once Lomo gasses out. Pep outslicks him, winning by UD. Mayweather, a much stronger man, kos Lomo 10th rd. Leonard (Benny) loses by UD. Arguello stops him with a body shot 12th round. Let's do this again after Lomo's 40th fight. With at least 10 of those fights against top level guys...Garcia, Crawford and (May God forgive me) Pacquio .
12 fights Wins over Rigondeaux Linares Russel Jr Walters Martinez Sosa Loss SD 2nd pro fight Salido 3 division champ He’s not going to have a long prime but man is he packing a dynamite resume into a condensed period of time. He is a special fighter. A little over confident and showoffs a little too much but skill wise he is a supremely rare and gifted fighter
Is everyone going to forget the Salado came in way overweight and was allowed to low blow the entire fight (ref and judges clearly paid) yet Loma arguably won more rounds and nearly stopped him? Regardless, I think Loma's limit is 135 and definitely 140. He has a small frame and he'll end up giving up 25 pounds on fight night if he keeps going up. At 130 and lower he is competitive with anyone in history. It is too hard to say if he can beat them all as his style is so unique and he has had just over 10 fights to judge. Looking at 135 stylistically you'd need to compare him with Duran, Benny Leonard, Pep, and SRR. To be honest it's a bit too soon to say he could beat any of these guys at 135 although Pep would be an intriguing match-up.
I understand what you are saying and agree, there's just not enough evidence . However, with the judges today, who would know if they had a narrow lead or were down y 7 rounds? Impossible to tell.
Salido beat him in only his 2nd fight not his 65th none of the above fighters were good enough to challenge world class fighters out of the gate.....Loma would destroy Salido now and Salido doesn't want the rematch he beat a clean boxing amateur style barely now that loma has found his pro cruel streak he said no thank you.....Willie Pep had no power and not a great chin Loma has a chin, power and is aggressive unlike Pep and mean. Non of the above could beat the Loma we saw last night
As many fights as their is video available and Enough to know that he has only seen a weak feather punching nice guy version in Pep not the mean streaked Loma we see now. Had Loma started off like most pros and had not jumped straight to world champion caliber in his 2nd fight he easily could have broken Chavez undefeated streak but he didn't he went straight to the best and has destroyed these fighters with an ease never seen....unlike Mayweather he is feared and unlike PBF he is looking for the best he wants the most dangerous fighters to step up he is out to prove his greatness.....none of the above fighters achieved his level and could dominate at his level 13 fights in their careers and his 396-1 amateur record is unheard of as well....he is already beyond the featherweight greats his percentage of high caliber opponents is unheard of.Where he sits right now he schools Sadler
No one schools Saddler. The style can't be schooled. Everyone who fought him went through hell and back. Loma might end being seen as one of the best ever to lace them up, but expecting him to school Saddler is ludicrous.
I actually completely agree. Maybe not the specifics of which round/how...but I think he'd beat Leonard and lose to all the others mentioned at the moment. As you say though, wait til he's fought some more big fights and it could be a different story, he might have the beating of them all (except maybe Mayweather).
OK let me put this in a stronger sense Loma beats him handidly over 10-12-15 rds It isn't Ludicrous but what is IMO is an amateur coming into the pros and fighting world ranked fighters and dominating them so easily that even now we have doubters who refuse to accept he is the best fighter we have ever seen who in 12 fights has dominated 7 current or former world champions won 3 world titles in 3 weight classes and has basically had the 5 previous fighters quit in the ring from humiliation faking injury or IMO in Linares case exaggerating the extent of the damage to quit "honorably"....as great as Saddler was in his day Loma is a fighter we have never seen the likes of and neither has Saddler and no Pep is no Loma because he had no power, chin was so so and wasn't mean he fought defensively Loma is not 5'5" he is nearly the height of Saddler who at 5'8" was 1 inch taller than Loma.....it look him 1 fight against a cagey former champion veteran in Salido to learn the pro hurt game and understand it he is making other championship caliber super talented fighters look like club fighters no other fighter has ever done what he has done. What does he do when cracked with a potential KO punch? well it happened Linares hit him with a hell of a punch he got up shrugged it off and got meaner like it never happened and Linares is a big 135... I have only seen one other fighter whom stood out as a great fighter right off the bat and that was when I met Mike Tyson at the Olympic training center during the box offs and then watched him drop Henry Tillman with 1 punch taking him off the ground for the 84 Olympics team....the first thing I thought was he is only a teenager and in a pro fight he would have KO'd Tillman. Fighters like Loma are so rare his like has never been seen before but greatness we are watching....perhaps the greatest.
