So, hypothetically speaking, if Joshua shatters that that fragile glass jaw many of us suspect Wilder's packing, are you going to finally do your mea culpas and acknowledge he was an overhyped fraud?

For what it's worth, I agree with you on Loma-Linares, I can't believe anyone would pick Linares, whose own shaky whiskers had been exposed, not once but several times!

Same card I had. 7-2 Loma. I guess if someone really wanted to give Jorge an early round they could've, but there's no way he was winning. Compubox stats were also really skewed in this one.

    My scorecard:
    R1: Lomachenko (close)
    R2: Linares (close)
    R3: Lomachenko
    R4: Lomachenko
    R5: Lomachenko
    R6: Linares (Knockdown)
    R7: Lomachenko (close)
    R8: Lomachenko
    R9: Lomachenko (close)

    87-83, Lomachenko ... Totally ok with 86-84.

About round 9 ... When I was watching it live I thought Loma was a little bit weak in that round and I was impressed by that Linares flurry, because I never saw Loma get hit like that. Upon rewatching it, I saw Loma outjabbing him, controling the ring and making Linares retreat. I can't give a round to a guy who goes backwards, gets jabbed and doesn't counter efficiently enough (ala Mayweather).

ive said all along that linares would do no better than an 8-4 loss, and he actually did slightly better than i expected.
i got to see how the size would affect loma defensively and offensively, and got a better feel for how the fight with mikey would go. i was hoping linares would throw more 1-2s, as mikey has the best 1-2 combo in boxing, he just knows when to throw it and when to feint it.
loma is not as small as i thought he would be, but he is having to burn more energy trying to dent theses guys and having to be more mobile because of the larger area they patrol.
without going into all the specifics, i remain convinced that mikey beats loma in a beautiful fight that elevates both fighters. mikey is more precise than linares in everything he does, hes bigger, stronger, heavier hands, stronger chin, etc... loma was outboxing linares for the most part, but it was close, almost like the difference between world class and elite... sorta like difference between linares and mikey.
heres a sample of what loma is looking at.

I'm going to go against the grain a bit and say that Linares was very competitive and while he may not have clearly been up on the cards, he wasn't losing the fight either. I think it was about even* going into the 10th. You could see that he had a major strength and size advantage over Loma, and what was shocking to me was the speed of his combinations. He was almost as fast as Loma (who is absurdly fast) and I felt he clearly hit harder. Lomachenko still has those flashes of lol-wut brilliance though, and THAT footwork, and that to me is what made him win.

Linares is clearly a very, very dangerous fighter and he was giving it his all. He's the first guy that I've seen that one could say "Yeah. On the right day, I could see him beating Loma."

I think VL has reached his ceiling in terms of size that he can give away and still win.

*Disclaimer. Only watched the fight once. Opinions may change with a few more watches. Batteries sold separately

The first was very close. Not a robbery if JL was given that round. Same with 7. That's 4 rounds, plus the KD. Draw going into 10. Not difficult to understand if you're not a biased, sack sucking Lomasexual.

Lomachenko has maxed out his size. I mean the guy relies on athleticism and technical wizardry to win his fights since he has short arms, is not tall and doesnt weigh much. I would say the most he can compete at is 140, anything above that he is capable of achieving great things, but size at the lower weights matter...a lot, so it would be an uphill battle. Also the man has a beautiful face, an IQ of 140, and is a math wizard and hockey technician. He is also a powerlifter and can pound per pound beat the best lifters the world has ever seen, I honestly love that man, but I love Golovkin more. I dont want to see that beautiful face punched by weight bullies that weight 180 pounds and have the reach advantage of a heavyweight.

Agree here. The size clearly was a problem, not to mention that Linares is a top shelf fighter himself. If he fights the elite at 140 he might well lose. I think even 135 is probably too big for him. Maybe he will fill out in time but I doubt it. I also don't want to see some big oaf muscle his way to a win just on size.

If Loma fills out anymore he will look like a pebble on steroids.

Hmm. Not sure why this animosity is directed towards me.

Rewatching the first 3 rounds with sober eyes, it seems clear Loma won round 1. Round 2 could have went either way. The last 20 seconds was all Loma and that may have skewed by view of the round a bit.

Are you a sack sucking Lomasexual? If not, my animosity is directed elsewhere.
