Canelo is Mexican, Mikey is Mexican-American. Im Mexican American, and I hate the Mexico the government not the culture.

Canelo fights every one. He doesn't let money get in the way of making fights happen. Examples are Floyd, Lara, and Cotto. Especially Cotto who Canelo by that time had proven to be the bigger draw and still took 1/5 of what Cotto was paid, all in the name of lets get in the ring.

Mikey my fellow MX-American and I'm a fan of his almost by default, on the other hand seems to think he's some kind of star and doesn't seem to be in a hurry to fight the opponents we the fans want or the ones he should fight.

Clearly my preference in fighters has little to do with ethnicity or nationality and more to do with willingness to prove your worth.

the truth of the matter is that you never questioned canelos willingness to prove his worth when he was doing everything but fighting ggg, including hand delivering the mans belt. back then it was all about business sense.
this is canelos last 8 fights across 3 divisions and 4 title fights-
    ggg
    chavez
    liam smith
    khan
    cotto
    kirkland
    lara
    angulo

this is garcias last 8 across 4 divisions and 7 title shots-
    lipinets
    broner
    zlaticanin
    rojas
    burgos
    martinez
    lopez
    salido
i will add that garcia is still undefeated and hes never been in any danger of losing any fight, while canelo has been on the receiving end of some questionable gifts.

I didnt question Canelo's willingness because he's never came across as a fighter who ducks fighters.

Oscar De La Hoya as a promoter isn't known for coddling his fighters either.

Let's not pretend Canele prolonged the fight for years like Pac-Mayeather or like Pacquiao did to Marquez for the rematch and rubber match. All it took was a LITTLE OVER A YEAR to make the fight official while Canelo took care of some ****, not a big ****ing deal bro, really, let it go. He had three fights in a 1.5 year span before the fight was made official.

Look at Wilder-Joshua, Brook-Khan, and Kovalev-Stevenson just to name some fights that are taking years to make.

As far as comparing resume, you can't. Canelo has many world level fighters on his resume, but he also has many elites on it too, something Mikey doesn't. I love Mikey, but he needs to step up his game.

Title fights are not as significant when its against subpar comp. Lara-Canelo is a much higher quality fight than any of Mikey's yet it wasn't even a title fight. Broner is a six time 4 divison champ ffs.

Mayweather, Trout, Lara, Cotto, Golovkin are levels above Mikey's best opponent.

Again, anyone who fights elite opposition will undoubtedly have close fights. Mayweather, Lomachenko, Golovkin, Koavlev De La Hoya have all had close somewhat controversial fights when they stepped up, and if and when Mikey does step up he may likely also have some close calls.

I think its your hate for Canelo that impairs your judgement. This thread had nothing to do with Canelo, yet you felt compelled to bring him up.

This is where it's worth noting that Loma really isn't much of a cash cow. That's why Arum said F it and puts him in whatever matchups he can get, risk/reward be damned. If Loma loses, he loses- it's not like Arum's bet the farm on Loma or is reliant on the profits he makes from him. It's more like a situation where Bob's older than dirt and wants to see what Loma can get done before he kicks the bucket.

Do you think we can see a Lomachenko vs Garcia fight in december if both are victorious?

Just fine by me as a stay-busy fight. I'm hoping Top Rank can squeeze in two more fights by the end of the year for him.

hes not known for offering em up for sacrifice either.

so which fight has mikey been avoiding for 2 years, which is what canelo took to fight ggg once he got the lineal belt.

    This content is protected

so why arent these single weight champions disappointing you like mikey is, when he moved up in weight twice and took belts both times, in the 2 years you were making excuses for why canelo wasnt fighting ggg.

im talking last 8 fights, who has canelo beat in his last 8 fights that is so much better than what mikey destroyed? lara? hurd just finished the job angulo started on the guy many people feel beat canelo.

yet canelo delayed his inevitable climb in weight for as long as he could, going so far as to make up his own division, even though you claim jumping weight is no big deal.

floyd schooled him, lara ran him nose to nose, cotto is an old midget, and trout is bang average.

you mean step up to the likes of lara, trout, khan, smith, kirkland and angulo? where are all these beasts again?

i was defending canelo whenever people called him a fraud, which was a large part of his career, way before you sold out to him, but im not ride or die with any knucklehead. i calls em like i sees em.

Unfortunately I can't see it. Both Mikey and Loma would take the fight like a shot if it was up to them, but there are too many promotional difficulties IMHO.

If it happens it'd have to be after lots of fan pressure, probably in 2019. But I'm not even sure it happens eventually. Maybe Mikey moves to 140 lb permanently before then, perhaps fights the WBSS winner at 140 ...

I hope it’s Beltran vs Loma and Garcia vs Easter

    Winners face each other.
However if not- I want Loma to move down and make deal with Gervonta Davis or Leo S. Cruz

The only thing giving me optimism is that the Garcia boxing business is ultimately a family one and Mikey calls the shots. If the impression grows that he's "ducking" Loma and Loma continues to get more and more hype, that's going to stick with Mikey. He'll make the fight.

Honestly, I think that's the driving factor of why he went back to 135 and immediately targeted Easter for unification in the first place. He knows that's the quickest way to Loma, and coming to the table with two belts means Loma will get in Bob's ear to get the fight done. That's the only way Bob's going to give Mikey the time of day.

If it's true that Mikey is shopping around for a new promoter - thats a HUGE first step.

As it stands now, there is 0.0% chance that Loma is fighting on Showtime. TopRank has done everything he's asked of him and made him a star. And right now, TopRank is exclusive with ESPN.

TopRank has shown the ability to work with other promoters. Look at last night, GoldenBoy had the counter programming HBO card.... but farmed out Linares for this fight. Arum even agreed to start his fight early as to not interfere with the HBO start time.

If Mikey can sign with anyone but PBC/Haymon....there's a very good chance a deal could get done if Mikey really wants it. Somebody like Hearn could work out an agreement with TR.

Otherwise Loma should go down to 130lbs and fight Berchelt and Beltran (if not a pacquiao payday)
