Really? Just within the last week or two it was revealed that Oscar had hired a couple of instagram whores to film him in his Pasadena apartment while he sodomized himself with kitchen utensils. They tried to blackmail him with the video but it didn’t really work. I’m sure you can google the story, however it didn’t get as much traction as fishnets. The girls tried to sell the video to some shady guy who deals in these things but he wound up passing on the deal and notifying Oscar.

That very well could be the case. You’re pro Alvarez and I’m anti so either one of us might be reading our own bias into it...probably you though:p

    But likely you.

I am pro Alvarez, but that doesn't mean I think he walks on water.

Since you said your Anti Canelo, let me ask you why?

I'm a fan for multiple reasons, the main one being his willingness to fight anyone regardless of reward and high-risk reward ratio. I also like that he is a student of the sport and his dedication to it. His style also reminds me of one of my favorite fighters JMM.

So what's the deal with you being Anti-Canelo?

Ring practically forced to change their precedented regulatory standards because, despite a board of professionals voting on it and deciding they must continue to adhere to the same rules they have been enforcing, Canelos promoters wont let them

How can Ring keep credibility after this?

That was a very succinct post. Answer, they can't but they only care about a handful of followers.

It's unfortunate what the Ring has become. That belt used to be synonymous with the lineal title for so many years....now it's a joke

He didn't answer so I will.

    KHAN.

I was on the fence about Canelo up until that fight. I rooted for him against Mayweather. It was the Khan fight and then it increased with Smith and the JR.

That hair test is a farce and a recent Kevin Iole article on Yahoo explains why

Isn't this the same Kevin Iole who stated that if Canelo wanted to prove his innocence he should man up and take the hair test?

When you’d first asked me this question I typed up my answer but the thread was locked when I went to post so I’ll try again.
I always felt that Clenelo was a manufactured champ being foisted on the boxing public; basically because he was young and good looking. He obviously looks like a Spaniard and not the typical smaller, dark haired, dark eyed olive complexion of his compatriots. Nothing wrong with that, though - I’m rather good looking myself. But again, we kept being told how special he was-the really special guys show that they’re special and it’s usually revealed early. In his first “title” fight at 154 his opponent was Matthew Hatton, a kid who was a 147lb guy who was never ranked at JM and was basically known for being Ricky’s less talented brother. The fight was contracted to be fought at 150lbs but Clenelo failed to make that weight. The fight proceeded and Alvarez teed off on the poor hapless smaller man for 12rounds and became the youngest champ. But based on his opponent and the weight controversy that distinction is pretty meaningless.
Clenelo continued to shine against former names and do what prospects are expected to do and, hey, good for him. He wound up fighting Lara and Trout and winning very close fights but the scorecards were ridiculous. It appeared the fixes were in. Since that time, Lara and Trout have been hailed as some type of Hagler and Leonard types of conquests by Clenelo, when in fact they’re just good contender / titlist types who never went on to set the division on fire. Again, good names on his resume but not great.
Then came the Floyd fight. After Alvarez was nearly whitewashed he received one draw card. That score was so diabolical that the judge retired.
Then came the Cotto fight for the MW championship while Golovkin was being frozen out. I understand that Martinez and Cotto would’ve been fools to fight GGG but an Alvarez win would set up a genuinely desirable fight. Clenelo wins the Cotto fight and MW championship (again with biased scorecards) and then starts hedging. He is mandated by the wbc (the very same organization that has fellated him since he turned pro) to begin negotiations and what does he do? He drops their belt in the biggest ***** maneuver since Riddick Bowe and says he will not be dictated to and that he’s not a MW. This, after having not fought at 154 for several fights. He and Oscar beg for a tune up fight at 160 in order to acclimate and who does Clenelo choose to fight? Amir Khan! A guy that never fought above 147 and known for having a terrible chin! This was a blatant **** you to Team Golovkin and boxing fans everywhere. Predictably, Clenelo damn near decapitates poor Khan. Remember, this isn’t tennis.
So does Clenelo fight GGG next? Nope. After squealing like a scalded swine about not being a true middleweight he then signs to fight Julio Caesar Chavez Jr at 164...who not only isn’t good but who has been fighting at 175 and has always been known for struggling to make weight. Again, this was another blatant **** you to boxing. So after he tees off on jcc jr, he finally signs to fight GGG about 2 years after he said he would. It was obvious that he was frightened and was doing everything to wait GGG out and hope he’s gotten old.
In fairness to Clenelo he fought a good fight against GGG but 95% of boxing observers believed he lost the fight. He did better than expected but still lost...and he received a draw. And not only that, one scorecard had him winning 118/110. It was satanic. That draw was right up there with Lewis / Holyfield 1 and Chavez / Whittaker.
Rather than fight an immediate rematch, Team Fishnets says they’re not going to fight for another 9 months and Golovkin is not allowed to fight in the mean time. About 12 weeks prior to the fight Clenelo begins tweeting selfies showing how exceptionally ripped his physique is. 11 weeks prior to the fight he tests positive for a banned PED that is known for helping weight loss by shredding fat while preserving muscle and stamina. Clenelo cries foul, says it simple contamination and promises he won’t fight in Nevada again.
Bud, I can go on even more but this should be sufficient as to why I don’t like guy.
