The Khan fight did it for me. Guy wins the MW championship KNOWING if he wins GGG gets the next shot. So he works his way to get an interim fight first. He literally could have fought any decent guy at 160 but instead brings up a chinny WW. That told me all I need to know about the guy. He then goes back down ton154, then up to 165 to make it 3 light touches in a row.

That "chinny" WW arguably has the fastest hands in boxing and was a more difficult challenge than some "decent" Middleweight would have been. You're making it sound like Khan is just some bum and was just some cake walk for Canelo. When Canelo Khan was announced, Khan had just been chasing a Floyd Mayweather fight only to be denied as Floyd chose to fight Berto instead. A lot of fans wanted to see Floyd fight Khan because of the challenge Khan presented to Floyd.

I'm trying to understand how Khan was good enough for Floyd but not good enough for Canelo. I get your wanting him to fight Golovkin immediately after winning the title because that was what the WBC was pushing, but for guy who was not yet fighting at or near the MW limit, to expect him to take on a MW just to prove that you are a MW was pointless. It's called prize fighting for a reason. Khan was a bigger name and a bigger $$ fight than any Middleweight would have been at that time. I don't understand how Canelo chasing the biggest and most interesting fight available stopped you from being a fan of the guy.

It wasn't like Canelo was chasing Khan either. Khan specifically wanted the fight. I mean what did you expect Canelo to do? Say no, then he'd be accused of ducking Khan like Floyd. Canelo takes on all comers and when a fighter like Khan wanted to fight him he did what any fighting Champion would do and he agreed. joey I've read many of your comments and you seem to be a reasonable poster but you keep harping on how the Khan fight ended your fandom of Canelo and I just find that to be a terrible reason to not be a fan of the guy. It was a "no brainer" for Canelo to fight Khan when Khan came a knocking.

I don’t know, don’t care, but he talked about why hair testing is not a claim to innocence and quoted someone with knowledge that it isn’t. Go read it yourself.

The much crazier question is why do they still recognize Tyson Fury?!

You can't possibly say Canelo shouldn't be champ but Fury still should, I will say that.

Ring doesn't follow its own rules.

My point is, he asked for Canelo to take the test, after Canelo took the test he decided it was pointless.

Pretty much like some of you haters. Of course you don't care.

Its the same repetitive stuff from his haters, mainly the GGG fanatics.

Do you really want to discuss clen? Do you know how it works, why a boxer would use it, and when it would be best to use to gain an advantage?

Why would he be losing weight 3 months prior to the fight, that makes absolute no sense at all bro.

I get you can be a little skeptical, but lets look at the reality, Canelo tested clean in March, April, and passed a hair follicle test. He also provided the receipts to where and what he ate. The NSAC investigated and cleared him. Just look at the facts. No one who was part of the testing or the investigation are saying he doped up, because evidence points to that he didn't.

Why even bring up his looks? Lol Mayweather and Pacquiao are ugly mother****ers and made the most money. Women and some men notice his looks, but I assure you the vast majority of boxing fans and PPV consumers don't give af about Canelo being a good looking fellow.

Canelo is far from a perfect fighter, but the boy can fight, and he'll fight anyone. Boxing fans appreciate that. ODLH and Pacquiao are a testament that if you're willing to fight anyone then fans will watch you fight.

I think you're being harsh on Canelo for fighting the string of opponents he did when he was 21-22 years old. He fought Matt Hatton at 150.. Who gives a flying **** but Canelo haters? GGG just matched Hopkins record against an inactive jr mw journeyman. You need to stop hating on Canelo and enjoy what he is. A very skilled and talented fighter who has beat some elite fighters and arguably beat Golovkin..

Even if you feel he lost to GGG, you would not be able to deny that Canelo did to GGG what no other fighter has done before. One he reduced GGG to a 30% connect fighter. He also outlanded Golovkin in power punches, and landed the cleaner punches overall, and finally not only did he land the better punches but his body attack was significantly better than GGGs.

No fighter has had that much success against GGG.

You just listed a bunch of reasons why you dislike Canelo, it wasn't anything new, the same ol things his most active haters on this site say everyday, but the truth of the matter is, Canelo has fought everyone we've asked him to fight, and he has given a great account of himself against all the elite opponents he's faced.

I don't like fighters because they are humble, or nice, or cocky, or anything much regarding their character, I like fighters that are willing to take the risky fights, fight the fighters the fans want.

I get GGG is a nice happy manly guy and people love that, and even I can respect GGGs character.

I personally prefer fighters who will take on the hardest challenges and try to prove the doubters wrong. Fighters who are willing to risk a loss because they challenge themselves.

About the cards, there no sense in beating a dead horse. Boxing is very subjective and having conflicting scores is something that happens often, you cannot avoid it. It doesn't mean there was foul play.

As far as GGG waiting for Canelo, let me ask you, Were you a fan of either Mayweather or Pacquiao? Well look how long it took them to make the fight, six years! That is waiting. 18 months is nothing.

Pacquiao made JMM who was begging him for the rematch wait 4 years!! and then 3 year for the rubbermatch.

Joshua and Wilder looks like they will take years to make that fight. Stevenson and Kovalev has been years and nothing, same with Khan and Brook. And your upset over 1.5 years? Bro, you're hating a little too much with that.

Golovkin and Canelo fought just last September, and the rematch was supposed to be last week. Whats the problem with that? If GGG wants to be bossed by a busienss man and be a yesyes man that's his problem, why do you put it on Canelo that GGG can't be his own man and make his own decisions.. Wtf?

Bro, you're just a typical hater.

How many non-MWs has Golovkin fought? Name them. You're such a crying little weasel.

Nope, it was right on time if you read the rules. Fury had a HW fight scheduled at one point, which allowed him to stay champion all the way until February even after that fight was cancelled.

Defending the Khan fight. Hahahaha. You've literally lost the plot.

Floyd was old and A LOT SMALLER than your ginger hero. With his reflexes and speed diminished and being a more similar natural weight people wanted to see how it would play out. A bit like SRL vs Camacho I guess was the line of thinking.

Canelo was in his athletic prime and massively outsizing Khan. I don't remember anyone other than Khan thinking he had a chance.

    He popped for steroids.

    And he retired.

Both are Ring rules which if followed would vacate the title.
