Why do RING magazine still recognize Alvarez as champion ?

So let me get this straight, less than 2 years before fans wanted to see Mayweather fight Khan, Mayweather supposedly "shutout" and schooled Canelo. But Floyd's skills were so diminished by 2015 (less than 2 years later) that he was able to beat Manny Pacquiao by decision all while being so incredibly dehydrated that he needed IVs.

But, Canelo, the guy who "couldn't land a glove on Mayweather" (supposedly, according to the experts of course), fighting Khan (the guy who fans wanted to fight the guy who "shut him out" lmao) is somehow so beneath who Canelo should be fighting?

This logic is just all over the place. Please explain how this works to me.

Technically the rules state "Here are the seven situations in which a champion can lose his belt". It doesn't say "will" it says "can".

Obviously the first 5 rules are less open to interpretation than the last two rules. Fury stated he was retired but it wasn't deemed to be "official". As far as I know, he didn't go through the process of actually becoming retired. I'm guessing you have to do some paperwork to complete that process. And with the positive drug test, it is my understanding that the test wasn't administered through a boxing testing organization. (Please correct me if I'm wrong on this) If it was, wouldn't he have been suspended for it? Didn't he go into rehab at one point? I know I read that he tested positive for two seperate substances on two seperate occasions and one wasn't a steroid. If he wasn't suspended for those tests, or if they weren't tests through a boxing organization, I don't see how you can expect Ring to strip him of the title.

You’re spun, bud. Seriously, you can’t be this disingenuous; you must be trolling. What makes the Clenelo/ Khan fight such a blatant **** you is the fact that Clenelo was squealing like a scalded pig that he wasn’t a true middleweight and that he begged GGG to let him have an interim fight at 160 to let him acclimate to 160. So when Team Golovkin agrees to let Clenelo have an interim fight to acclimate to 160 in order to prepare to fight an iron chinned, come forward fighter who does Clenelo choose to fight? A glass chinned Khan who had never fought above 147 and had been previously ktfo at 135 and 140! And the results were predictable; after several rounds of Khan doing ok with his speed he was timed and nearly decapitated in the 5th round in a ko of the year type of highlight.
I expect you to apologize for your post, young man.

Because he probably thought a hair test would suffice, but learned through an expert it means nothing.

    Styles, fights.

Khan is super fast and his speed would give Floyd all sorts of problems defensively. His chin is candied sugar, but that's OK because Floyd can barely punch hard enough to kill flies.

Canelo is a lot slower than Khan but he's an excellent counterpuncher. He also hits with authority. It's a foregone conclusion that eventually he'd time Khan and land something big. That's what happened, and Khan's chin exploded into a cloud of icing sugar.

Khan has good chances vs Floyd and virtually no chance against Canelo.

    Styles, fights.

Also, Ring would never strip Canelo over something as trivial as blood in his clenbuterol system. He's Oscar's cash cow, and Oscar owns Ring. Rumour has it Oscar is looking to commission a self-lubricating, solid gold rolling pin, and that sort of thing costs money.

Here's the algorithm Ring magazine uses:

IF (Champion last fight > 1 year ago)
    THEN

    IF (Champion is NOT Mexican)
    THEN DO
    DECLARE CHAMPIONSHIP VACANT
    ELSE IF
    (Champion is Mexican)
    THEN DO
    LEAVE CHAMPIONSHIP UNCHANGED
    ENDIF
    ENDIF

You're literally killing me here. Firstly are you trying to tell me an athlete can't significantly deteriorate in 2 years? Hahaha. Ok.

Secondly styles and other factors make fights. Surely you've been posting here long enough to see that? Triangle theories simply do not hold water in boxing.

Long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Obvs wasn’t a fan of his one time PED bust, but I think we all know it was a one time thing and he was duped by his newly brought on nutritionist. He only looked large for one fight.

I’m very against PED use and that’s why I can’t stand Clenelo.

Listen, we all know Vargas got lied to.

Clenelo, IMO, looked like he was doing something. He got huge and stayed huge. Also, he doesn’t seem interested in random testing as of right now which makes him look highly suspicious.

Lastly, Vargas’ time was when PED use was pretty non existent, where this era its rampant.

I don’t truly care what you think. But you asked so I told.

Vargas to Clenelo is apples to oranges
