It's a shame Hughie Fury has been overshadowed by this weekend's boxing...

Yep I expected a points decision and he did exceed my expectations after the awful showing against Parker. Hughie still has a future, he's young and has time to improve and he should hopefully learn from the mistakes of the Parker fight.

His biggest problem will likely be getting meaningful fights. He's the kind of boxer that can make you look bad even if you beat him, he isn't exciting, doesn't bring a huge payday or even a good one and his promoter is a small fish in a big pond.

Boxrec had Sexton at D level and I agree with them most of the time.

Well, "solid ratings" was the whole point. Fury is still a novice at this point. Yes, he fought Parker but thats about it.
I think this might have been the second time Hughie was the headliner.

Seems I was wrong the fight actually did way more than 1.5 mill viewers on channel 5 they actually did 2.9 mill which for Channel 5 and a boxing event is brilliant. Card still sucked but suggests Hughie is garnering a following.

"I’m absolutely thrilled to again deliver fantastic ratings on Channel 5 and 5Spike with almost three million viewers tuning in to watch the show on the night. Hughie produced a tremendous performance that ended with a dramatic stoppage that no doubt had viewers on the edge of their seats. This verified my belief that Hughie would be a huge success on free-to-air TV and we’re delighted to have partnered with Channel 5 and Infinitum."

That’s ****ing brilliant from Hughie. Good news for Mick after the Parker YouTube disaster.
