Agree to some extent, there is a system in place on how to get title shots but let’s not pretend it’s Stiverne we’re talking about here.
Did he deserve his first title shot ? No, but he delivered and the rest is a snowball effect based on his ability (not saying connections are not a big part of it too).
Personally, I’d hate to see him fighting lower opposition and waste time if it’s obvious he’s capable of big things.
As unfair as it is to those who are going up the long and tough way, it is refreshing to see someone get 3 titles in different weight classes and make 4 guys no-mas in a row in just 12 fights.
It’s not like his is the easy path anyway, hence the loss to a guy he would annihilate now, 10 fights later.

Linares is growing into a 5'10 junior middleweight fighting at lightweight as we speak.

 

Loma's golden spoon treatment has a lot to do with him getting three titles in 18 fights, oops I mean 12 fights.

Or did you have a problem with me stating that Charlo looked 15 pounds bigger than Williams, but Linares didn't look 16 pounds bigger than Lomachenko. Nobody would look at Rigondeaux and Amagasa, or Rigondeaux and Donaire and think they were close in weight. Donaire and Walters looked about what Loma and Linares looked in difference. Sure Linares was heavier, but not 16 pounds. So as I was saying, Linares is growing into a 6'1 super middleweight, fighting at lightweight, as we speak.

I'm not talking about how he got there or if he deserved it. I'm saying he was not on the same path as the other fighters. Think of it like NBA players coming out of highschool versus college. Take Lebron or Kobe. They will get 4 extra years to pad their stats which imo is not fair to the players who went to college and went thru the traditional route.

Loma's case is similar in that he got a much much quicker route to titles because he turned pro at the end of his career, so he's not a rookie or a prospect. He's a veteran essentially. It doesn't mean or have the same value imo as DLH getting 3 divisions in 22 fights.
