Or who ever have seen Easter, period. I don't think he could have done anything in his last couple of fights to suddenly make him a favorite over MAG.

Easter has good power and speed but his defense is suspect. He can be hit and that should be his downfall. Garcia is giving up a lot of size and reach but I think Mikey catches him.

I see this as a very winnable fight for Robert Easter Jr., and I thought it was a mistake the moment I heard that Mikey was moving back down, he's fought at Light Welter for two fights now, and has acclimated to the weight fairly well, moving back down to 135 could leave him drained.

Stylistically Mikey is a far easier opponent for Easter to deal with than Fortuna, Shafikov and Commey, the latter two known for their iron chins, all three are awkward as hell, are great at getting on the inside, with herky jerky upper body movement that makes the hard to land on clean. Which is why they gave Easter fits. Easter looks exemplary when he has someone who is less aggressive, that isn't in his grill smothering his work. Mikey is far too cautious a fighter to attempt such a kamikaze like approach. Which means he'll stay on the outside allowing Easter more opportunities to use his obvious advantages over Mikey, like the fact that his reach is freakish and its 8 inches longer than Mikey's and he's got a good 3 or 4 inches on him height wise.

Easter is a conservative accurate fast sharp counter puncher with good reflexes and timing, Mikey is a conservative accurate fast sharp counter puncher with good reflexes and timing, and sometimes in matches between guys who fight in similar styles, the guy with the physical advantages has the actual advantage. Also, Mikey seems the more impatient of the two, which means he may be the one who gets aggressive first, and may end up paying for it. It's something to consider.

This fight is a genuine 50/50 styles make fights toss up for me.

Um, btw, Easter will give Garcia hell. Styles make fights.
I think Garcia should be the clear favorite to win, but his style plays into Easters hands. Garcia ain´t that good at dealing with pressure. And pressure from a taller guy is a different thing.

    (And imo, Garcia is overrated)

No idea. But if Mikey’s fighting him he can’t be that good.

Robert Easter Jr is one of the most disappointing fighters I've watched in recent times, based on my expectations of what his standard would be.

    Thoroughly unimpressive

So you wouldn't be too surprised or saddened to see the Lomachenko vs. García soufflé collapse & curdle before it has finished baking? Sort of like how neither of us would be too surprised or saddened to see the same fate befall the Golovkin vs. Canelo soufflé if a certain mutual sentimental favorite lands a hail Mary? :deal:
