right now I will have to go with Duran at 135, Lomachencko has only 11 fights and very talented but not sure if his natural weight is 135, time will tell how the 30 yr old Loma moves up and developes in these next few years. He got dropped but was not hurt and he prevailed but Duran is a different level of great lightweight and Loma will have to do a lot to qualify for that comparison. Loma is an incredible talent though right now. I love watching him improve

Loma is my favorite current fighter. He's one of those rare technicians who can make boxing look like a true art form.

Duran's one of the front runners for best LW ever, and his power carried up multiple weight classes from there, while Loma just stepped up to the division. Duran's mastery of the close quarters, relentless pressure I have to pick Manos de Piedra here, likely in a close, hard fought decision, based off of what we know about both fighters at this point in time.

Ironically, we'll not see a repeat of No Mas Chenko against Duran.

Loma is still acclimatizing at 135 lbs. He will improve just like Duran did. Duran lost his first fight to De Jesus however by the third fight with more experience he truly dominated De Jesus in their 3rd fight in a brilliant performance.

Don't forget Duran didn't have a billion amateur fights tho. Duran's stage of learning and Loma's are incredibly different at these points imo. I don't think Loma will show near the improvement Duran did post Dejesus 1. He could well be close to what the finished article will be already which is pretty considerable regardless.

It depends....if Duran took the fight seriously and believed he was being slighted by the Lomo hype train. If so, Duran beats him down, in shockingly easy fashion.

On the other hand , if Duran had partied every night for a month leading up to the fight and had eaten two steaks and a beef chimichanga the morning of the fight...well , there may be a second No Mas on the record books.

Maybe they were bigger, had more height and range. Natural size advantage aided them quite a bit. At 5-7 Duran was average height for a lightweight. As a Welter he was pretty short.
It would have been amusing to see Leonard for example attempt to drop his hands and taunt Duran if he was 5-5 or even 5-7. They would still be scrapping him up off the canvas.

? Duran KOd 11 of his 12 title challnegers. Some guys ran that was the best way to avoid him. Viruet went the distance. He moved a lot ran some and took some good punches. Duran wrecked his lightweight comp.

Try Lalo's. Preston between Frankford and the Bush Turnpike. Incredible Tres Leches cake.

Of course Cadot's on the NW corner of Preston and Frankford is the best French restaurant in town.

I knew someone would put up this matchup , Duran at lightweight would overwhelm Loma, no natural 126 pounder would ever beat Roberto Duran at lightweight
