He was more embarrassed than hurt. He was getting more cocky as the rds wore on and needed to be more wary whilst in the pocket. After the fight when asked about what happened he didn't offer any excuses. He said Linares was a good fighter and he learned another lesson about boxing. He will learn from that mistake and be harder to catch the same way for future opponents.

Nope. He was hurt. That’s why he ran the rest of the round and took it easy the next round.

Breathtaking honesty and humility. Reminds me of when Pacquiao beat Margarito and said that he was hurt and was lucky to win.

He ran because he was being cautious. It was more the force of the punch and the position his feet were in that put him down. He bounced straight up and let the ref know he was fine. It took until half way into the 7th to get back to business and that shows he just needed to find his feet rather than clear his head.

And then adjusted his strategy to fight inside, and then wore down Linares and had him backing up, then stopped him with a brutal body shot, then won the fight! You forgot to mention a few things that also happened.

That is true but the fight was even before the KO. Round 9 was a very good round for Linares. I know consensus had Lomachenko dominating and nearly winning every round here but in the real world, the judges scorecards reflect accurately what actually took place.

Linares did win a few rounds, he did give him a good fight, but he also got knocked the **** out, and Lomachenko also has CLEARLY become the DEFINITE p4p number 1 , and you can't stop crying about that lol:crybaby2:

Ironically, I believe the knockdown will be beneficial in the long run. Campaigning for the first time at lightweight, yet very clearly getting the better of a bigger, stronger man through the first five rounds (I had 4-1 Loma heading into the 6th), the kid suffered a lapse in concentration and learned rather quickly that at 135lbs a loss in focus can prove disastrous.

Moving forward, I suspect he'll be more cognizant of "return fire" and conduct himself accordingly.

This will only make Loma better. The Matrix simply had a glitch brought on by the biased and hateful boxing establishment. After this Loma will be flawless like Neo. He is the one.

It will do him good. Even though it wasn't a serious KD, it's a reminder that he can be hurt and he needs to concentrate all the time. I think the Salido loss is also good. Pops that cherry and gets the "OMG I mustn't lose" pressure off.

He got hit with a short crisp shot. It happens. He gets hit from time to time when opponents fight back.
