The main reason I want to see this fight is to try and figure out Warrington's level. I'm thinking fringe world level maybe able to get himself a vacant WBO or something equivalent.

I’ve settled on a surprise win for Warrington. I rate Selby highly but I also think Warrington is underrated. I just feel that he’s been boiling himself down too long, and I feel he hasn’t looked at the top of his game for last couple of wins.
Warrington to pile the pressure on for a split decision win.

I was shocked at how to be frank chubby Lee was in one of the conferences a good few months back compared to the racing snake looking Warrington. Selby actually looked like a fat cousin of the pre-fight starved one at the moment.

I was just enjoying my dinner when I read your post 20. It put me right off my food, amigo. :) Do you realise the awful implications of what you are saying? A close win for josh means the r-word That's right. The r-word...REMATCH.....and that means no selby v Frampton in Belfast.....or Warrington v Carl either. Oh Gawd noooooo.....

Josh would be easier for Carl, but either way it'd better be decisive enough that there's zero demand for a reprise....or it'll spoil my ...and a lot of other irishmens ...summer!

Anyway I feel Lee wins on points ud12...something like 8-4 or 7-5....:)

Good odds on a draw apparently, or there was. Stranger things have happened.

Haha. Sorry mate. I admit the likelihood is a Selby win, he’s the more skilful fighter, and a match against Frampton later in the year would be magic. I’ve just got a funny feeling though there’s a shock on the cards due to a few variables in Warrington’s favour.

Find the whole Leeds contingent, fighter and team included, extremely unlikeable and utter cringe tbh. The way they morons were allowed to spout abusive and disrespectful Pish thorougout each presser was a farce.

Selby an absolutely different level to this guy. Not one thing Warrington does better than Lee imo.

If josh wins I want it to be so decisive ...or so boring....as to eliminate any demand for a rematch. Josh would be a much better opponent for Frampton IMO. Styles make fights and Lee and Carl wouldn't gel at all IMO. Plus I admit to having concerns about Lee being able to beat Carl too.....he could be all wrong for Frampton.

Warringtons all action aggression would gel very well with Carl's boxer puncher approach and make for a much better fight to watch.

On a separate note ...would one of the "variables" you refer to being in Josh's favour, be his closeness to warren? I'd have concerns about the venue AND. Promoter both not being neutral here. Selby better win big, or he could "lose" a "controversial" rematch-inducing fight.....all to franks benefit....

I think he'll be right up for it and will outwork Selby 7-5 or 8-4, he's the more hungry fighter, I see Warrington as underrated and Selby overrated, with all things considered - home advantage/ a very loud hostile crowd/ Warringtons improvement/ Frank Warren rooting for the Leeds man so any dodgy decision will probably go Joshs' way, I think it's perfect timing for a Warrington win.

@Hit The Road Jack nailed some of it. I think Warren wants a Warrington win, mate. If they can keep the momentum rolling with Warrington he will continue to make a load of money for him. So politics could play a factor. Like you say, everything is in the Leeds’ man favour. Selby might not be affected by it all but maybe the judges might be.

I reckon Warrington has a better work rate, which is pretty handy for winning on points, especially with judges who might be easily swayed and looking for excuses to reward the home fighter.

All valid points. Lee better make it decisive and clear in Leeds on Saturday if he wants to get the win on the cards. I just want everything to be on the level. There are, as you say a lot of things pointing to a definite bias in warringtons favour here. I hope there's no funny business....
