Round 6 of Duno-Gonzalez will be on the short list of ROTY contenders by the time 2018 is done. Some brutal, bitter exchanges...during the calmer moments.

    Round 6

González is standing in with Duno and they are SLUGGING AWAY, hard, inside. González is just completely selling out and pushing his way in, ramming the jab aggressively into the face now rather than just fluttering it, stepping all the way in with full commitment and follow-through and then whipping left hands in behind it. Duno countering frantically but can't pry González off. Duno is bashed into the ropes. Fierce exchanges. González is occasionally ROCKED with a counter but he keeps pouring on the pressure and is lighting Duno up in terms of sheer volume.

    10-9 González

    59-55 Duno

Gonzalez looks weakened by the right hands to the belly.

"That's good advice, and not just as a boxer, but as a human being, you're gonna want to always continue breathing uninterrupted..."

Okay, not sure if actually this face-value stupid or wryly brilliant low-key trolling. :dunno

    Round 7

González is backed up with right hand & left hook combos. Duno using the lead right like a jab, and following up with the left. González is flipping jabs off the hip, looping in some left hands as he slides his feet back to make space, having perhaps spent a bit too much of himself in the sixth to be relied upon for too much temerity in the successive frame. Duno is leaping in, getting off in twos and threes, and darting out to reset. González is timing him with the right jab but the fence he's putting up with them proving an ineffective deterrent.

    10-9 Duno

    69-64 Duno

Trade secret: 99% of Mexicans are undone by even rudimentary body shots, if you watch the small hall Azteca/Televisa/etc. cards.

The ones you see graduate to world level are the hardened teak-tough 1% culled from the lot of those lily-liver shrinking violets. :deal:

    Round 8

González is getting fended off with double jabs and right hands on the face. González is bringing his guard down as Duno targets his body with uppercuts on the inside. González wisely spirals outside, first counterclockwise and then reversing it, keeping Duno at the very tip of his right jab, changing altitude with it, not letting Duno anywhere close to him. Duno having to gallop in and double or triple his jabs to just make glancing contact. González turning him and jabbing well. González caught late by a 1-1-2 on the face but overall maintaining control.

    10-9 González

    78-74 Duno
