What do you think about these boxers? Do they deserve HOF induction?

    Carlos de Leon
    Michael Moorer
    Tim Witherspoon
    Antonio Tarver
    Fernando Vargas
    Ricard Mayorga
    Ricky Hatton
    Carl Froch
    Jermain Taylor

None of those guys beat hall of fame figters except Hatton when he beat Tyszu who was in decline at that point, Ward dominated Froch.

well that is true, but their careers of fighting Hall of fame guys and fighting the best is significant. Taylor and Tarver beat older guys who were considered Hall of famers or future. Witherspoon had a great record, but many guys in the 1980s didn't fight many hall of fame guys since only a few of them make the hall like Tyson or Holmes, and Witherspoon didn't beat Holmes.. Mayorga to me was the worst of all. He lost to everyone.

Who would you pick of that list as HOF members?

Maybe Moorer, if it's as weak year for competition. Strong competition and Michael does not make the cut.

Froch will get in. Hatton probably will. Tarver is borderline. I don't expect the others to get in, but wouldn't be shocked if Moorer did on account of being a heavyweight champion with some big fights.

    Interesting point.

Who would you name as borderline HOFs (boxers that achieved a bit more than all of the mentioned above?)

That's just not true. Vargas beat Winky, Moorer beat Holyfield. Taylor and Tarver both hold wins over 2 future HOFers as well.

De Leon and Witherspoon have been eligible for induction for the past 18 and 10 years, respectively, without even making the ballot - so it's highly unlikely that either will ever get in.

Moorer, Vargas and Hatton are already on the ballot, so they could potentially get in one day. But they will be up against fellow-ballotees like Curry, Benn, Eubank, Laciar, Julien Jackson, etc... plus new nominees in the coming years. So it's by no means a sure thing. Of the 3, I would give Hatton the best chance.

Tarver, Mayorga, Froch and Taylor are not yet eligible - but I would expect Froch to get in one day.

Jermaine for dethroning atg hopkins, Tarver for ruining the then considered invincible jones.

Vargas for being so young a titlist, a record, I believe?

    Thats 3 solid cases.

Moorer i guess but its weakass with that WBO title as part of his case - in fact basing a case on an unrecognised title isnt a valid claim - it would be a kind of "backdoor entry".
In his defence, he had that string of HW titles as a record claim.

hatton maybe for dethroning Kosta, himself a HOF type guy, but probably not.

some from that list might have but for one important fight they lost, which was a bridge too far (eg. Froch vs Ward).
