WTF with Gary Russell fighting once per year?

    This guy is very talented but he just wastes his prime years.

    He had 1 fight in 2015, 2016, 2017 and we don't know if he will fight again in 2018.

    4 title fights, 4 wins. Could've easily been 8 fights if he fought just twice per year.

    What's it? Bad management? Or other reasons?

    One fight a year is enough for some, GRJ been fighting all his life. Team GRJ think it's working smarter to be in the gym year round with less fights.

    At this point GRJ on record only wants the absolute biggest money/legacy fights. Basically securing that right fight can be a long process.

    I think most americans are happy with his inactivity, god forbid he does well and enhances lomas legacy

    Haymon I can see it now is bad for boxing,often pays em enough to fight only once a year which is probably the reason Hearn has been brought in,hard to follow anyone fighting just once a year.

    It will if he’s only gonna fight once a year,how many times did Groves have to rebuild lol,can’t do that fighting so infrequently

    That's nothing Rigo hasn't even been seen since Loma took his soul. I know for a fact that GRJ had to be sectioned in the Maryland Oompa Loompa Asylum for his own safety for a couple of months after Loma took his but at least we know he's still alive. Nobody has seen or heard anything from Roman Martinez or Nicholas Walters either since Loma harvested their souls. Perhaps they're all away living together somewhere, renting a beach house on a remote island trying to find some kind of solace and closure from each other's company.

    I’ve heard Monterey mention this though about Haymon and how he just pays once a year enough to get by but it doesn’t do much for their career as it’s so hard to get behind a guy that’s so inactive

    Gary doesn't like boxing, he has said so on numerous occasions.
    Hes only doing it because hes really good at it and it pays well.

    So no wonder hes inactive.
