Liston and Tyson would get to Joe early and Lewis would be a bad matchup as well for him. Louis would be tough too. I think he might roll Dempsey, Lyle, Old George and Bowe.
I would probably pick prime Frazier against all of them. This whole myth about Frazier having a bad chin is just that a myth. Prime Foreman obviously dropped a Ill prepared Frazier 6 times including a shot in the back of the head. Joe GOT UP 6 TIMES! HOW MANY OTHER GUYS ON THAT LIST GET UP ALL 6 TIMES!!?? AND DONT EVEN TELL ME THAT THEY WOULDNT HAVE GONE DOWN FROM THOSE SAME SHOTS!
Norton was still getting up when the fight got stopped. Foreman even hit him on the chin again when Norton got right up from a knockdown before the ref started counting. Is Norton's weakness vs Punchers a myth too?
I got Marciano, Louis, Liston, and Lewis to beat Frazier … Even with Dempsey .. He takes out the rest
I don't really fancy his chances against any of them TBH. His best shot would be with,Lyle & Marciano ,then Old George, and Bowe imo.
As a huge Frazier guy I can’t favor him (not saying I wouldn’t pick him lol) against Lewis or Liston but think he runs the table against the rest
Frazier did not take a good punch. The film shows this. Lucky for him his management didn't make any matches with Liston, Shavers, Lyle or Norton. Frazier was zero as an out fighter. He had short arms and nothing close to a functional jab. His right hand was mediocre at best, and no real plan B to win on points except to grind firing his excellent left hook all night long. His best chance would be vs. the Old Foreman, or vs. Lyle. Maybe he could beat Dempsey or Marciano, but he would need to start quickly ( something he didn't always do ) Of the ten listed, my best guess is he wins four.
Norton's eyes were rolling in back of his head. Dont insult me by comparing Nortons chin with Fraziers. Your really clutching at straws here.
Quick question, who did Ali hurt more, Norton or Frazier? Nothing Ali landed bothered Norton, but he sure stunned Frazier in 2 fights, didn't he? Had Frazier taken shots as an older fighter from Shavers at age 35 or Cooney at age 37, he's taking the count too. I think the chins are about even here. Facts are not straws.
Robert, Based on the Ali fight, the answer is Norton had the better chin as they were hit by the same man many times over the course of three fights each. Holmes who could hit maybe a little harder than Ali hardly hurt Norton either. Did Frazier have a good chin? My ascertain is chins are best graded when hit by punchers. Fraizer didn't fight many punchers but I saw plenty of stuff that suggest he could not take a good punch. The films shows the following: 1 ) Frazier was floored in his pro 2nd fight and ( floored 2x in the Olympics, I think ). Also down 2x in high stakes NJ amateur match. 2 ) Frazier had his knees buckled by Stander whom Norton beat more convincingly. Stander hardly landed much. 3 ) Frazier was stunned by one of the few punches Joe Bugner landed ( round 11, I think ) 4 ) Frazier was staggered by a right uppercut in the first round vs Mexican Heavyweight Manuel Ramos, before stopping him in round 2. *** Notice a trend, guys who were medium level punchers who did not land much had dramatic results when they did land. This is NOT the sign of a good chin, quite the opposite, and I've been watching Heavyweight boxing for 30+ years. *** 5 ) Frazier by his own words was close to defeat vs. Bonavena, who was likely the second best puncher Frazier fought. I scored that fight a clean draw on the 10 point must system, with Frazier down twice. If Bonavena could do this, the bigger punchers would likely stop Frazier when they landed. This is logical.
