Warrington won't play ball you could see in the post match interview. My guess was they'd talked it through before he spoke to the press. I think he'll want one or two easy defences in Leeds both to make some money and to build any eventual Frampton fight. He'll think he can get better and the longer he leaves Carl the easier his task will be.

Morning Holler! i appreciate what you are saying. Fighters these days have very little say in who they fight and when. Warren holds the power here. He could insist Josh fight Carl but would rather milk both fan bases seperately for a year or so I guess....

Morning to you Len! Carl was on the Mike Costello podcast after Warrington Selby. He pretty much conceded that August would come too soon for Warrington. I think if Warren did insist he'd risk losing Warrington, because that's quite a tight time frame for a guy that's just done a 12 week camp followed by a tough 12 rounds.

It's a pity the way this is working out because Frampton looked decent against Donaire and if he's going to do something further in the sport now looks to be the time. Maybe Fra is onto something with Kid Galahad?

Hi holler....yes indeed ....the kg situation is a bit like the old Sherlock Holmes quote:
" when you've eliminated the impossible, (LSC, jw, Russell etc) whatever's left, however improbable, must be the answer...(kg?)"

Carl has been scathing towards kg, and kg is close to a shot at Josh Warrington via the IBF so I dunno... Watch this space as they say...

Will WBO vacate Valdez? They have this on their site:

    http://www.wboboxing.com/update-wbo-world-champion-oscar-valdez/

In which case Carl would at least be fighting for the world title, so maybe Magsayo would be the logical opponent? Not a draw in himself, but with a title on the line that should do the trick?

Eh? Unless I'm blind Nowhere in that article does warren commit to anything specific Fra.

Why would Valdez relinquish his title? To move up? Nah...he is too small and slightly built for 130. He was dwarfed by Scott Quigg.
Afaik Valdez is staying as champ at 126....- and bob arum is backing him.....

I don't think Valdez would willingly relinquish, but maybe Warren has enough sway with WBO to get them to vacate him and make him Champion Emeritus or somesuch? That way Frampton fights for the title and when Valdez recovers he gets an automatic chance to get it back?
