Warrington selby...to be blunt a feather-fisted flap-fest!

That was a fight hardly anyone gave him.a chance of winning. Selby has struggled at the weight for years but never mentioned wen his performances were questioned cause he won. How many current world champs actually beat the champion. Not vacant title shots. That fight will happen just maybe not Sept. Think Warren will try to build it up a bit more.

 

I know hardly anyone gave him a chance...me included....and it's great he did win. I'm talking from Carl's point of view...he needs to crack on to a world title fight at 31 he can't be messing about .....

 

Well Len, all i can say is, its the same punchless champion who was drained to death, who you picked to beat ur man carl.

What I said was that I worried for Carl ..a short stubby counter puncher...against such a long rangy mobile guy as Lee. Of course my comments were made Assuming a fresh fit healthy Lee....not a death camp survivor. The Lee from the Josh fight...Carl would prob stop him. Also the Carl from the recent nonito Donaire fight would beat both men from last Saturday.

Imo that was the same selby of the past 3yr.
Ive got a feeling Carl will be coming to Leeds next may. Hopefully he will of at least picked up the wbo. It would be a great unification fight and one i expect josh to win. Frampton whilst probably been the most skilled boxer this country has showcased in the past 10 yr, will be nearly 33yrs by then. Add in the intangibles and i will chose Josh again

 

This country being Northern Ireland? Figure you mean the UK. I'm with others that Carl takes it due to his power (and experience), regardless of the gulf in age.

But think about this. Take away workrate and what has Josh got? He's getting by on pure fitness, swamping his men with fearptherfisted flaps - admittedly being thrown at a superhuman rate due to his incredible fitness. But boxing wise He is still largely unproven. I hope he turns out to have longevity. I like Josh. But They better match him carefully. Or maybe not match him at all between now and Carl. Probably warren will put on Carl v Josh sooner rather than later. Not next summer. Winter 18 or at the latest spring 19.

Len...fitness is the most important thing in boxing. It doesnt matter how technicaly gifted u are, if ur not fit enough to throw, or defend.
This was shown in carls first fight with mooresy. His fitness wasnt there and he blew out after 4 rds.
Josh has a lot more to his game than fitness tho.

Hey pal just for the record..ive been one of carls biggest fans and admirers of his ability since he won the celtic. I used to tell anyone that would listen that carl would be a strong world champ and hes fullfilled everything i predicted.

Timing is everything in this sport tho and i reckon, if this fight does happen it will be next summer at leeds. The timing will be with josh

 

That's the annoying thing about boxing...this timing thing...that mayweather seemed to make popular. Everything that's wrong with boxing. We,ll fight you but it won't be till your on the slide or dying at the weight.

Good win for Warrington but its all about what he does next. He's 27...in the prime of his life. We don't need to see him waste fights on guys way below the level now...waiting for guys like frampton to outgrow the weight or get old. They end up wasting their best years...before you know it...getting picked off by the guys coming through when they start to outgrow the weight or get old.

Frampton v Warrington is the fight to make now. Pretty sure frampton can postpone his stadium fight for a shot at the belt. Lets find out how good Warrington is.

 

Just now rematching the fight. The pro-Warrington "cheerleading" commentary from Rawling on boxnation is sickening. Phrases like " massive head shots" and " concussive head shots" ...."shots thudding onto the ribs"tripping off his tongue.... What a blowhard buffoon ....when anyone whose never seen a fight in their lives could see there's nothing on Josh's shots at all. He has no power. Literally zero power.

With such a lack of power warren better match Josh very very carefully. He looks like he could be vulnerable to any guy tough enough to ignore his punches....which pretty much means anyone in the top 15, such as the big tough Mexican, Garcia that Carl fought in his first time out with Moore. Unless their fight is judged by 3 blind men I cannot see him beating Carl Frampton.
