EDIT: I'm especially interested in fights where the victor's chin was tested...

    Dempsey
Marciano (other than the ghost of Joe Louis, please...)
    Liston
    Frazier
Bowe (other than Golota, since those wins were DQs)
    Lewis
    Wlad

The biggest puncher Liston faced was Cleveland Williams, big guy with a huge smack on him, Liston showed good defense before taking him out in their first meeting and was more aggressive when taking him out in the second fight, Zora Foley was another puncher Liston fought who hit as hard if not harder than Williams. Foreman hit harder than any of Frazier`s other opponents, I don`t think Joe`s style was suited to fighters that hit harder than him.
Holyfield from the second and third fights v Bowe was probably the most solid puncher Bowwe faced but Riddick has stated Britain`s Herbie Hide was the hardest puncher he has faced, whom he stopped in two after stating shakily.
Tua, Rahman and McCall and Rahman were the hardest punchers Lewis faced, but Bruno hurt Lewis whereas Tua didn`t because Lennox was harder to hit by that stage. Mercer was a good puncher that Lewis faced also but he was never hurt when they fought. AJ, Povetkin and Saunders were the hardest punchers Wlad faced.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I was just in the process of editing the initial post to specify "other than Golota"...

Ron Stander beat a harder puncher than any of these men!

Perhaps power is a tad over rated?

Where`s the proof that Haye hit harder than Saunders, Povetkin or AJ? David certainly didn`t hit Wlad as hard as AJ or Saunders did. Haye has never thrown a harder punch than the uppercut AJ caugt Wlad with that nearly took his head off.

I can't imagine Huck eating the amount of clean shots he took against Povetkin and making it to the final bell against the cruiser weight version of Haye, let alone the version that was 20lbs heavier.

AJ and Saunders? The OP asked for fighters they beat

Dempsey - Firpo or Willard. Firpo had him in trouble early, so I'd go with him.

Marciano - Walcott or, yes, Louis. Layne was a decent puncher as well.

    Liston - Cleveland Williams.

Frazier - tough one. Maybe Bonavena or Quarry. Chuvalo even? I'll go with Bonavena. He seemed to hurt Frazier the most.

Bowe - Herbie Hide or Evander (an underrated puncher).

Lewis - Tua was the hardest hitting, but wasn't able to make his power count when they fought. Briggs, Vitali, Evander, Mercer and Mavrovic were all able to hurt or stagger him, so you can more or less take your pick from them. I'd probably pick Briggs.

Wlad - Peter, Wach, Haye, or Brewster. Wach and Peter seemed to have the most raw power, but Brewster had already proven he could stop Wlad. I'd pick Brewster.

Dempsey was tested against Brennan, Firpo, Sharkey and Tunney. Only Firpo was a monster puncher but Tunneyand Sharkey were great fighters that hit a past prime Dempsey quite a bit and Jack took it.

    Rocky: Walcott and Moore

Frazier: Chuvalo, Quarry, Bonavena, Ali, Cummings.

    Bowe: Hide, Holyfield

Lewis: Mercer, Bruno, Grant, Vitali, Briggs, Morrison

Layne had a quick heavy right but I can't possibly imagine Layne hit harder than Walcott or Moore. Both made the rings top 100 punchers of all time list.

Liston- Cleveland Williams definitely but people are forgetting Mike DeJohn, he had a Devastating left hook. He's right up there. Also Nino Valdes could wack. And of course, Floyd Patterson

Good list. But Tua should be included. He hit like a truck

Sharkey wasn't much of a puncher at all, only 15 career knockouts
