Hearn takes another L: rebuffed by part time Polish construction worker Kownacki

Too early to call it an epic fail me thinks.
No one, Hearn included, expected this to be a walk in a park for him so we’ll see. These two fighters that have refused Hearns offers are not a big loss imho.

I don’t like Hearn but I want him to succeed and deliver what he has promised - more quality fights.

 

It does look like it will be, I give you that, he’s got Jacobs and Chavez Jr. But it’s still too early.

Isn’t he supposed to announce the 30(?) names that are going to be in his US stable some time soon? I think it was supposed to be a month after the announcement of the TV deal.

 

So far he's not having much luck despite offering some guys double what they normally get. The Haymon fighters will be an issue as it's a part of their contract they can't sign with a promoter unless it's been OK'ed by Haymon. If Haymon decides to block his fighters from signing with Hearn, there's not much Hearn can do about it.

 

PBC guys must be hating Eddie now — he has cost them tons of money in raises for their boxers.

Absolutely. Hearn is not a guy to give up that easily. He will persevere and prevail, most probably.

 

I doubt he will sign any heavyweights or cruiserweights to be frank but I might be wrong

 

Eddie doesn't lose battles. There's no doubt he'll get the guys onboard. Once he gets hold of one big name, then the rest will come streaming in as well. He just needs that first breakthrough to show he means business and then it'll get going and he will have some names onboard.

 

At the press launch, Hearn mentioned talking to Haymon directly as a way of promoting his fighters, which would be a decent idea.

Breaking America was always tough in the music biz as well

 

He kinda is. He has acknowledged that they need more fan interaction. Fans want to talk about boxing(talk shows, live weigh ins) and they want the opportunities to see fights.
DAZN will supposedly showcase the entire cards, unlike HBO and SHO.
