Peanut butter has 25.09 grams of protein per 100 grams.
pumpkin seeds has 33 grams of protein per 100 grams.
1.2 grams of protein per pound, a welter weight fighter consumes 155 grams of protein per day. This can be easily remedied by a trip to the Dollar Store where a jars of peanut butter & and pumpkin seeds are sold.

You would want one with nothing much added though. Most peanut butter has a lot of salt..

It helps you add weight along with nuts even Personally I would avoid it > I actually avoid both in real life ! :)

    Yes it is exactly that
I try to control my weight dont want it to go up as distance running is my thing and I am knocking on a bit I would rather lose a bit as running is easier when lighter .

Nuts are no help for those controling weight This is backed up by the scientist at slimming world who believe that nuts are of no benefit to those knocking off timber
That said most of their customers think that exercise is lifting the remote control I do accept that

many years ago I read a study that showed, regular consumption of peanuts for 19 weeks resulted in an 11 percent increase in resting energy expenditure, or REE. REE refers to how many calories you burn at rest.

All protein isn't equal, different forms are made up of different amino acid profiles making some more complete and better than others.
Nuts are an incomplete source of protein as they're missing several key amino acids that target muscle protein synthesis.

And of course they're of no help to those controlling weight! its because per 100g they contain over 50g worth of fats! mostly omega 6 unsaturated fat which isn't bad but still its extremely calorie dense and to lose weight or maintain it you need to be in a calorie deficit or at maintenance level

Nuts have a low-glycemic load, which means that they cause a gradual rise in blood sugar, instead of an quick increase. Foods "nuts" with a low-glycemic load keep blood sugar stable.

What does that have to do with their quality of protein and calorie content though?
And the GI ratings of food are misleading as they're based solely on the carb source eaten alone. When combined with other macro's - protein and fat, the GI rating of that food gets reduced. How much depends on the food and amount of each macro but a bowl of white rice will have a higher GI rating than that same bowl of white rice with salmon and avocado for example

Combination is the key, " protein supplementation". A late Persian nutritionist who I worked under created vegan recipes for the Iranian national wrestling heavyweights. The meal was navy beans with Brazil nuts plus potatoes & veggies, just one of the meals. Brazil nuts is rich among plant proteins in sulfur containing amino acids. I could on and on about this topic.

I'm a vegan myself! and I didn't say that incomplete proteins can't be combined in order to create a complete protein source but said its not true that all protein is created equally and protein from nuts is incomplete lacking in key amino acids. So yes it definitely has to be combined with other sources of protein for it to be a significant source in itself.

Here's a great combo, rices cakes with almond butter and real fruit jam. Get this combo right, and you'll get plenty of healthy fats, nutrient-rich fruit, and just enough healthy, natural sugars to power your workouts and keep your carb stores up where they should be.

This subject is a bit difficult without knowing everything you are eating in a day
