Canelo will either fight O'Sullivan or Lemieux in september. Forget Charlo, Jacobs. I doubt GB will offer anything good to BJS, and they'll say he didn't want it.

 

If the rematch doesn't happen in September, we as fans will be getting robbed of the fight that we need to see. For the last year and then some, this has been the main feud in boxing amongst fans at least on this forum.

The idea that the rematch may not happen is incredibly disapointing, first to have it delayed from May to September and now facing the possibility that it may not happen this year. I mean, I'm sorry, but that just sucks. I don't care if you're a Golovkin fan or a Canelo fan, but we as fans deserve to see this rivalry settled in the ring ASAP.

For the IBF to not realize how important this fight is for boxing and the fans, to not take into account what happened here, I don't know. I guess in the next few days we'll know of the IBF's decision. I'm not going to jump to any conclusions until anything official is announced, but if these guys cannot agree to a rematch, then we're left with the biggest fight in boxing ending with a literal "tie" without a tiebreaker. I mean how could these promoters live with themselves for not settling this in the ring?

Don't get me wrong, there are great fights out there for either guy, like a Billy Joe Saunders, like a Derevyanchenko, like a Jacobs, etc, but at the end of the day, there's no bigger and more important fight than Canelo Golovkin and it's not even close. The fanbases haven't been invested in a rivalry like this since Mayweather Pacquiao, and we saw how that ended lol. We have a golden opportunity to see the fight of our dreams in a rematch and maybe even a Trilogy and it just keeps getting stalled by BS and it's incredibly frustrating.
