Its pretty simple, Lance Armstrong who was riding in an era of dopers, and was trying to even the playing the field in his mind, has been slaughtered on the alter of public opinion as a redemptive blood sacrifice for the sport, and hung and burned in effigy repeatedly by the media. Yet now we have his heir apparent from the UK in Chris Froome, who's been cheating for the last 7 or 8 years, winning grand tour after grand tour, in the most incredulous way imaginable, in some cases far more impressively than Armstrong ever did, Froome even managed to test positive last year after winning the 3 week grand tour the Vuelta A Espana. Yet this mother****er gets pass after pass, and like Canelo, Povetkin and every other doper in the sport of boxing, he has an army of apologists who play dumb and vociferously defend him because the idea of the greatest Brit cyclist in history being yet another facade is too much for them to bear. And the UCI and sport of cycling choose to look the other way, because Froome is backed by millions of dollars from Sky, and is the new face of the sport and they don't want to have another Armstrong like fallout to have to deal with. But the bottom will fall out eventually, the walls have been closing in on Froome, his Machiavellian general manager of Team Sky Sir Dave Brailsford, former teammate Bradley Wiggins and co. after the floodgates started opening last year about their various suspicious using and abusing of TUE's.

Sadly at this point, most of them ARE clean, that's the part left out of that post. Lance rode in an era of dirty cyclists, it was an open secret, he was trying to even the playing field. Froome is riding in a stringently tested sport, where guys almost never test positive, and ride like human beings, not gods, its literally reflected in their performances, they have good days and bad days, yet Froome is head and shoulders above the rest and rides like an Armstrongesque beast in his prime, and has pulled off some incredibly unbelievable feats. Like the one he pulled off Friday, which was ridiculous, he attacked with 80 kilometers to go on his own, and climb 3 massive Alpine mountains and beat the leader who cracked badly, and conveniently got back just the amount of time he needed on the second placed rider, just enough to win the whole race overall. And this was after he was coming off of his first doping positive, and this race reflected that, since he's looked like absolute **** for the first 17 days of the race, ye when he needed a miracle, I'll be damned he got one.

The ride was a carbon copy of what the American cyclist Floyd Landis pulled back about 12 years ago in the Tour de France, that he tested positive for afterward, but Froome has a shitload of money protecting him, so that probably won't happen this time.

Good post but I’ve just read an article on the BBC that said after his win today it’s not gonna change public opinion about him as his reputation is in bits.
Is been saying for years about Wiggins that he was a doper as not unlike Armstrong actually he basically came from being good at time trial stuff do winning the tour and the Olympics in one year, team SKY who he and Froome rode for are as dirty as it gets but they have the money to make it work.
If it wasn’t for those Russian Bears who made it public what athletes were doing with these TUEs it’d of never come out, basically it’s cheating with the moniker of being legal.

So funny how all these cyclists happen to have asthma probs lol.
The Canelo thing has wound me up,not just that he was on PEDs as that was obvious but the punishment and their behaviour is disgusting.
As an example when Oscar said Golovkin has wasted six weeks time of Canelo and Golden Boy I thought who else under a drugs ban has been able to pursue fights and make deals?
Just shows the ban was just a token thing, total psy op if you ask me.

Yeah I witnessed the insanely fast transformation of Wiggins over he course of a year, and found it flabbergasting how blatantly they went about it. I considered myself a fan of Wiggins, he was an excellent time trialist but never showed any acuity in climbing, which isn't something most cyclists can just acquire overnight. Then out of nowhere in 2009 he was right up there hanging with Armstrong, Contador and the Schleck brothers, which I didn't buy for a second, Lance probably could have won that race, but had to hang back and not attack, because he was afraid he'd drag Wiggins up to his teammate Contador, which is a no no in cycling. Wiggins still went in 09 from finishing in the 30's 40's and 50's to finishing in 4th place. Which just doesn't happen. Then he had a bad year in 10, after joining Sky, but in 2011 they nipped that in the bud, that was his breakout year, IIRC he crashed out of the Tour, but came back and came within a hair of winning the Vuelkta, aided by Froome, who went from being a nobody on Team Barloworld that was finishing out of the Top 100 and in the 79's and 80's to coming in 3rd in a grand tour. Its all such unmitigated bull****.ince the Vuelta in 2011, Wiggins went on to win the Tour in 2012, and Froome has been winning everything he takes part in ever since.

Petacchi a brilliant sprinter had an asthma problem, got banned and stripped of his record setting wins in that Giro, Contador had an asthma problem, got banned, and stripped of his Grand Tour wins, Froome has asthma problems, doesn't get banned, is allowed to continue racing while under investigation and will get off scot free the double standard is ****ing maddening.
