Ibragimov, Chagaev and Haye aren't big heavyweights.

Iggy still survived to the limit with Wlad, unlike the short, stocky, clueless Chagaev, whom everyone always said was better than Iggy. Sultan has to be credited with a certain amount of cleverness to have gone the distance with a "top of his game" Waldo.

Wlad lived on control of tempo and range. I'd suggest that those two things basically comprise ring generalship. He was a hell of a general.

Was he also the first HW champ who was defined, in his prime, entirely by his weaknesses? Control of the tempo to protect his suspect engine, control of range to protect his suspect chin? As he saw it?

I don't think it's fair to call Chagaev clueless. He had a perfectly defined gameplan and even sent Wlad scrambling for the hold at one point. It was just a technical and physical mis-match. I think Chagaev legitimately tried to beat Wlad.

Well, maybe I'm being a bit hard on the beaver, but Iggy definitely was a better survivor...more resourceful....even if he bored the shlt out of everybody in the process.

Fitzsimmon, Sullivan, or Corbett would’ve shown him how to get the job done, eh?

Did Felix Savon have overrated skills? If so, who the hell was any good?

He's using his jab, (and slapping with it) with his chin up in the air against an obvious no hoper . Klieckoes is so afraid to commit to the jab he has most of his weight is on his back foot to be able to jump out of range, but because he's created so much distance from jumping out the range , he's telegraphing the rest of his jabs giving his opponents that split second to see it coming because he has to jump back into range, as opposed to staying in the pocket, slipping and blocking so he could be in range to instantly capatalize on any of Ibravgimov mistakes without telegraphing anything. It COULD b e impressive if you don't know what your looking at.

I don't care about all that I care about, and was trying to point out was that Ibragimov was cleverer than Chagaev and avoided being stopped.
Your inaccuracy is referring to Chagaev and Valuev with the cute little "jew" attached....."Tschaga jew and Valu jew " Neither man is Jewish, so why do you do it? Don't like Jews?

I'm pretty partial to this. I'd forgotten just how crazy cautious he was. It was certainly effective, no-one got to his chin for years and he eventually got to most of theirs.
