They are a young talent and they all have punching power. None of the guys you named have the all around ability to make an impact at HW it's that simple!I Ruiz to heavy footed, weight issues and is undersized. Jennings does not hit hard. He's a very basic boxer who's last good performance was in 2014 ? And that's only because Klitchko was told to box . Fury is limited to power he can and will be physically easy to push back......He's unwilling to take risk fights with no title involved except minor ones....
Great eras are what they are..I don't need for anyone to tell me 10 years from now what great era it was.... Just like I ignored all the EXPERTS ?? Lol Telling me how the 90's was boring and sucked until it was over.... Foreman losing to Young would be like Joshua losing to a Jennings... you can't make guys out to invincible and then make impossible expectations in this one. ATG are not important there labels and aren't giving out like they were then! There subjective opinions...the actual quality is what you look at! This era was kicked off by Joshua vs Klitchko...If that's not something I don't know what is bc even with Ortiz vs Wilder we haven't even begun this one. Wilder ? He's the second or 3rd best HW bc he is a 6'7 fast and does have boxing IQ otherwise he would have lost to Ortiz. His resume is as weak as I've seen but ONE Joshua win erases all that. i don't see this happening so most likely he will go down as not such a remarkable champion but make no doubt guys like Ortiz and Klitchko at any point are no easy wins. He's still a legit threat and that's all you can ask for as any fighter in any era.
The era unfortunately is not super stacked when the likes of 4 fight novice Joe Joyce (who isn't even that good) is in the top 10 already. There are a couple of exciting fights to be made (e.g. Joshua Wilder) but once they're done the division will most likely become boring again.
Not saying it sucks on the contrary I said it was a pretty good era, I'm just not one to so easily bestow greatness before it's earned. Quality should be decided by what a fighter achieves, not by simply looking good fighting nobodies, which is why Joshua currently ranks higher than Wilder. You dismiss subjective opinion but ignore the fact your assessment of this era and it's fighters is based on nothing but subjective opinion.
Because I know what I'm looking at. Joshua is good because anyone with boxing intuition can see the skills he has not bc he's fighting nobodies which I would question ones actual abilities to judge fighters by a statement like that.
Joyce is a Olympic gold medalist ( robbed ) and fought Usyk with just 2 years under him and has had hundreds of rounds with Joshua.... He defeated a reputable nation champion Hrgovic before he was even on the Great Britain squad...Hrgovic is an excellent boxer. Yea good luck beating that guy! The weak 6'6 250 pound novice..lol How do you come to the conclusion that it's over after Joshua vs Wilder after seeing this list? Are you a zombie? Lol
I agree, there's no shortage of talent. Looking at that list in the opening post, I can imagine many interesting potential match-ups that could be made at heavyweight. Yet there's not much scheduled right now. The promoters and managers need to get moving and bring us some good heavyweight fights!
You missed a few undefeated prospects. Teslenko ( rated 47th at box rec ) Kean ( rated 35th at box rec ) Kuzmin ( rated 30th at box rec ) And Dychko Yoka Goodall Joshua is the best, Povetkin the 2nd best but near 39 year old! Then Wilder. Fury is past his mental prime, I doubt he can regain his form vs someone decent. The rest of the division is in flux. The best of the young guns IMO: 5 star prospects: Hrgovic 4 star prospects: Joyce, Goodall, Teslenko, Dychko 3 star prospects Kuzmin, Yoka, Dubois,
The heavyweight division looks very promising at the moment. I can't say this guys will become ATGs, but they are very exciting fighters like Joshua, Wilder, Fury, Parker and Whyte. There also a lot of good up and coming prospects. Tony Yoka Joe Joyce Filip Hrgovic Ivan Dychko Efe Ajagba Bakhodir Jalolov George Arias Daniel Dubois Oleksandr Teslenko
How is he a top HW ? He hasn't had a meaningful fight since 2014. what exactly has Scott accomplished besides being accused of throwing a Wilder fight ? Jennings has no relevant wins and isn't improving.
