What fight were you watching? That was a savage and brutal affair. Pacquiao was shaking in the post fight interview and said that he was hurt and that he was "lucky" to get the victory.

Margarito was 17 pounds heavier and never stopped coming.

Well of course he was faster. Pacquiao was so shockingly fast in the first Barrera and Marquez fights. If you want to see Pacquiao at the apex of his physical ability you need to watch those 2 fights. He was nowhere close to that speed after the Margarito fight. I'm not even fully attributing the speed loss to the Margarito fight, but obviously it plays some part.

Marquez said after the first Pacquiao fight that the speed of Pacquiao was just simply unbelievable. He had gone into the first round in an aggressive stance ready to bring punishment to Pacquiao, but was just got off guard, by how unbelievably fast Pacquiao's hands and feet were. After the first round he was able to recalibrate his attack and go to plan B.

Marquez said regarding the knockdowns. "He was just so unbelievably fast. The first 2 knockdowns I didn't see the punch coming because of the speed. The 3rd knockdown I saw the punch, but it came so fast I couldn't get my glove up to block it in time".

Pacquiao was slowing down by the time of the 3rd Marquez fight, but was still fairly close to his best. The same is true of the 4th. Yes he was noticeably not as fast, dynamic or explosive, but still a p4p level guy. After the Marquez knockout he was ruined. That put the icing on the cake.
