I remember when he supposedly was harbouring amir khan level china.

People were even saying Areolla would be a dangerous fight for him because chris would only need one punch

Glass chin might’ve been a bit unfair - it’s a lazy criticism by fans for most heavyweights who get knocked out more than once. However, he was certainly no Ali or Holyfield. The problem with Wlad was that when he first started getting noticed he was an athletic beast; a supersized heavyweight who fought off of the balls of his feet, throwing lead left hooks etc. He fought like a talented middleweight. But after getting knocked out by Sanders and Brewster, and getting roughed up by Williamson and Peter he changed up his style to Wladimir Clinchko the Big Klit. He began to stink out the joint being content to outpoint inferior opponents en route to a 12 UD. He became the heavyweight Floyd.

I never thought Wlad chin was that weak really, it was more his mindset. I think Wlad tended to panic when a fight didn't go to plan and he couldn't adapt in the moment so he became vulnerable.

People said the same thing about Lennox when he was KO'd by Rahman and McCall or Tyson being knocked out by buster.....basically when you're the best, whatever part of your game is perceived as a weakness is amplified by fans/pundits for arguments sake

This. Wlad does have a grade a glass chin. He was stopped three times in his prime. If Peter back in 2005 had any kind of stamina he would've also stopped Wlad, who was on his bicycle after being dropped three times. Steward developed Wlad's jab and grab style for a reason.

Yet, he's never been down for the 10 count (like most, if not all boxers with glass jaws have). Yet, he's never been knocked out unconscious (like most, if not all glass jawed boxers have). I wonder why that is?

What does that make Anthony Joshua's punching power then, when he failed to keep a 41 year old, 2 year lay off glass jawed boxer in Wladimir Klitschko down for the 10 count after landing his most powerful punches flush? If Wladimir Klitschko really had a glass jaw, then why was he able to get up every time Joshua dropped him? The only other explanation would be because Anthony Joshua is a feather fisted boxer. You can't have it both ways!

Either Anthony Joshua is a legit power puncher and Wladimir Klitschko never really had a glass jaw.

    Or

Wladimir Klitschko always had a glass jaw, and Anthony Joshua is also a feather fist for failing to keep the glass jaw down for the 10 count or failing to concuss the glass jaw.

Probably around the first Peter fight. That was the time he proved he didn't just crumble in the face of a big puncher.

When would you say you started to notice the change in general opinion?

Wlad does have a glass jaw. Also, Joshua's power is overrated. I wouldn't say Joshua's feather fisted, but at the elite level has good power, but not great power. Povetkin ended Takam in one punch while Joshua without the referee stopping it early would've went 12 with a scrub like Takam. The only person with a decent chin that Joshua's faced was Parker, who took clean uppercut after clean uppercut from Joshua and was never even rocked once. That said Stewart deserves a ton of credit for reinventing Wlad and developing a style that allowed him to stay unified champ for as long as he did despite his very weak chin.

Neither Amir Khan, nor David Price have ever been knocked unconscious, but they have some of the glassiest jaws in the business.

hes got a weak chin but a good yet narrow set of defensive skills.

Obviously not as bad as Prices, but if you are using him as a yardstick then you are getting very desperate, his is terrible. Usng Price for comparison makes wlad look really bad, you'd be a nut to use him as a comparison.

!glass is the wrong word, weak is better.

Amir Khan was knocked out unconscious by Canelo Alvarez and was down for the 10 count against Briedis Prescott.

David Price was pretty much asleep against Alexander Povetkin and required oxygen tank inside the ring.

The same never ever happened to Wladimir Klitschko. FACT!

You haven't answered my main question yet: If Wladimir Klitschko really had a true glass jaw, then why out of 69 bouts, he has never been knocked out unconscious or at least dropped to the canvas for the 10 count without being able to get back up to his feet? And it's not like he's avoided power punchers, because he hasn't. He faced them, and multiple of them in fact. Yet, out of 69 bouts, he's only been stopped 4 times and all of them whilst still on his feet with the referee waving those fights off without him staying to the canvas for the 10 count.

And you also don't make sense when you claim Joshua has 'good power'. How can you have 'good power' when you land your most powerful punches flush on a supposed 'glass jaw' and can't at the very least, keep that glass jaw down for the 10 count, if not flat out make the 'glass jawed' boxer go unconscious? Do you realize just how unreasonable, irrational and bizarre your point is?

It's absurd and a gross exaggeration to claim that a heavyweight with 69 bouts, has a 'glass jaw', only because he has been stopped merely 4 times (all whilst standing on his feet).

he was stopped on the floor once, thats been inceontestably debunked - though he did get up later.
