He only has himself to blame by letting all his mandos build up while he centered his career around Canelo.

During the downtime between fight 1 and the rematch , he tried to fight Cotto , but wouldn't try to fight any guy from his own division.

When the rematch fell through , he fought 154 lbs Vanes , but completely refused to fight his mandatory Sergiy.

The opportunity's were there to satisfy his mandos. All it took was a bit of career planning , but we now know he just didn't have the bottle to face these decent contenders.

When he fought Vanes he basically said - im good enough to fight this retired 154 pounder , but im not good enough to fight my mandatory.

He's turned into exactly what Felix Sturm was. Another McDonald's Champion , defending happy meal trinkets against patato peelers .

 

The wbc are all about pushing mandatories on golovkin while wilder is entering his 5th year without a proper mandatory and stevenson.
Cotto and clenelo didnt have to bother with mandatories.
Suliaman is a bigot against eastern europeans, freezing out gvodsyk too.
And froze out povetkin, you can see this guy is a racist

 

Golovkin has the WBC strap for 2 years.. What mandatories have they pushed on him?

Wilder was ordered to face Povetkin within 12 months of winning the belt.

 

You know for a fact if the WBC strip him then Canelo is going to be fighting for that vacant title!

Though hopefully between the IBF and WBC agree one can just wait a turn.

Oh no doubt, that's a real good fight objectively. I just have issues with the idea of Canelo being reinstated to their rankings after a drug ban and going into a world title shot (hypothetically)

So if they do strip GGG - which I hope they don't - then give me Charlo-Jacobs
