Wilder was never losing the fight. Wilder and his corner between every round kept emphasing how Ortiz was gradually losing steam and would eventually be there for Wilder to take out and he later was. Ortiz showed how fluid his jab and counter punching skills were and put up a good fight, but Wilder knew Ortiz would gas out eventually.
