Joseph Parker vs. Bryant Jennings in the works for August 18th

Parker will knock jennings out

 

After a tough loss, Parker perhaps should have chosen a softer opponent.

Jennings is a solid heavyweight, I think an upset is a real possibility.

 

If the Jennings from 3-4 years ago shows up(the one who faced Klitschko and Ortiz) then definitely. Regardless Jennings appears to be a top 15 HW at the very least and I think he'll cause Parker a lot of problems.

This is a really good fight, neither guy taking a soft touch and definitely not one Parker NEEDS right now... not that he's ever been one to take the easy options. I reckon he can take this but sleeping on either guy in this would be a silly move. Has potential to be a cracker!

Definitely hope Parker takes it, he's been doing it tough and still early in his career - more solid wins like this would definitely cement his place in the elite end of the HW division, people for the most part haven't given him the time or credit he deserves for what he's already done and how he has gone about it.

 

Parker should easily decision Jennings. Jennings since his loss to Ortiz has fought nothing but subpar competition and he still hasn't improved his skill set one bit. He still doesn't have a jab and is still wide open for counters.

 

Parker by boring decision in a dull fight if it ever happens at all.But he should be careful since the fight might be staged in the USA and Jennings already got 1 controversial decision in the past vs Mike Perez.

Jennings is pretty overrated especially after lasting 12 with safety first Wlad Klit typical performance.Still Jennings was probably top 10 fighter but after inactivity who knows nowadays.

 

This is a great opportunity for Parker to show that he is still in the mix if he can look impressive.

 

Since when does Parker choose a soft opponent. Cojanu was only a back up for the injured Hughie Fury. Parkers been doing it tough with the current elite in the division for the last 2 years now.

I haven't been too happy with Joes last two fights but this should be a good fight. The victory would look nice on their resume thats for sure.

 

True Parker isn't the type to look for a soft touch. When he fought Takam many people questioned if it was too much too soon. He fought Joshua pretty much at the first opportunity, he even tried to make it sooner, before Joshua fought Wlad. Parker is the polar opposite to Wilder, he looks for tough fights which is refreshing.

Hopefully this fight gets made it's a good fight and honestly I'm not sure who wins here. Jennings despite giving Wlad trouble was then stopped by Ortiz, he's still got something to prove as his best performance is a loss. A win over Parker would put him right back into contention or a win for Parker would be a strong comeback fight and would solidify his position near the top.

 

Bad fight. Jennings can compete with Parker but whats the point of jumping into the deep end after you just entered the kiddie pool from a long layoff. Just because you CAN doesn't mean you don't need to work your way their first. Jennings is going to lose and be knocked back into irrelevancy where he doesn't belong.

 

Hope it gets made and August 18th ain't too far away.

 

Have to disagree, Jennings has had 4 come back fights over the last 2 years, including 2 this year and at 33 he's wasting what few prime years he has left if he doesn't step up again now he might as well not bother.

He's had enough time to mentally recover from the losses to Wlad and Ortiz, he's been active, there's no point in him continually fighting journeymen at this point. The division is hot at the moment with lots of potentially good match ups and with Hearn and his DAZN money it's the perfect time to try and get back into contention with the money that could be on offer.

It's a risky fight but it's a winnable fight. Parker doesn't have the power of Wlad or Ortiz, if he can apply consistent pressure in the way Takam, Ruiz and Fury couldn't do then I could see him out working Parker.
