Here he is next to bonavena(a total bull too) and he looks the ****ing more robust guy.

Here he looks more robust than frazier and an older and heavier joe louis
https://goo.gl/images/L2rZAo

Ali looked very fragile and skinny next to him

https://goo.gl/images/iFGhYX

This guy was from a era where the boxers were not like bodybuilders and still he looked solid like hell because his very big frame

https://goo.gl/images/sj8mvc

He weighed 218 pounds for a 6'0 guy that never trained weights and was muscular and big boned , if he trained for strongman or powerlifting would have been a monster

No doubt his spirit animal was a rhino, Butterbean's was a hippopotamus, Frazier's was a shark because he only moved forward and Holyfield's... a Giraffe that liked fighting with his head/neck

If you look at competitive weightlifters around his size, he seems to have a physique a lot like those guys.

I heard somewhere that he could bench press 250 pounds at seventy-five years old. Probably not a very reliable anecdote, but it certainly wouldn't shock me if true.

I read it was 350. I'm pretty sure of it cause at the time I could handle 250 and could not believe a 75 yr old man was hitting 350. When he was a bit younger but already done boxing I read it was 450! Impressive indeed

Not the strongest functional heavyweight ever, as we saw when Chuvalo fought a young Foreman and was bulled into the corner and kept there. He was a physical specimen however, a lot of guys back then were. Harold Johnson was another fighter that was built like he was carved from stone.

In the last photo where he throws an uppercut hes built like a spartan general. Very sculpted and very impressive for a guy who didnt power lift or use peds.

In an interview he stated he trained his body as if he was competing in a high contact sport like football and it shows. He was never koed and could take some serious damage with a strong neck and thick sturdy legs.

Funny story .. Bob Bozic, a former Chuvalo sparring partner told me a story that in the 60s Chuvalo, Quarry and Boone Kirkman were driving cross country together and wrecked a bar when some locals started crap w them without knowing who they were .. of course it was Quarry who threw the first punches ..

Yeah, he was a very thickset guy. Probably would have been in the 240s or 250s these days.

Course, he has nothing on Jarrell (it's all muscle, baby) Miller.
