Loma aside look at how any high achieving amateur is moved in their professional career stiffs and journeymen for around 20 fights ! AJ was moved a bit quicker than most probably as a result of the opportunity presented by Charles Martin becoming a World Champ . Unfortunately at Light Heavyweight the top fighters are dangerous, Buatsi needs a good 18 months to 2 years development .
Yarde realistically needs a similar build up the problem is for some reason he has a rating in the WBO of number 2 ??? I do have a problem when his management say that because of that he can't fight domestic fighters with lesser ratings as that's a backward step but can't fight Kovalev the champion as he has had 400 bouts compared with Yarde 30 ish !!! I do agree that he is not ready for a world championship bout but unless he engages in progressive competitive bouts he is going nowhere!

Unless his billion dollar promoter actually makes a bid, it would appear that they are using the hype to give Buatsi some publicity.

So you mean they counted on team Yarde declining the offer so they would look better?! Think that means they succeeded.

4 or 5 fights - 15-0 with a world ranking and the hype

Hearn only looks better to people who are unable to see through bullS. He has no real intention of making that fight and in reality It makes zero sense to either fighter from a point of business at this point. Neither of their managers would sign off on it either.

Eddie is young and slick and knows who to present his argument to a willing audience, Frank is old and ratty and was always going to come up with his predictable but mostly valid responses which plays Into Eddies hands.

Makes no sense, we have seen with Davis v Taylor and Okolie v Chamberlin he likes making "battle of prospects" type of fights. I believe this is legit, he has said he will let Buatsi fight on BT, so what's the holdup ? The key from fights like this is because they are both so young, a Defeat wont do any damage to them as they could come back from it. Joshua-Wilder however, Joshua loses that will be very damaging because he his a superstar, you see the difference?

    This.

This idea that Hearn is somehow trying to use Yarde's name just for kicks is simply laughable. Who the **** is Anthony Yarde? He certainly isn't big enough that a rival fighter and promoter need to lie about wanting a fight. The benefit to Buatsi or Hearn from doing this is what exactly? Likes and retweets on twitter.

As I said before if the offer is a good one and Yarde turns it down his the only one who is going to look bad in all this.

Remember this is the 'beast' who will fight anyone. If the money is right then just take the fight or stop with the talk and just say 'I'm a novice in this game and am not ready yet'.

Okolie and chamberlain are both in Hearns stable and it was relatively easy and cheap to put that fight together. Chamberlain was also not highly regarded by Hearn /sky and in his few fights often struggled to even get his full fights on tv. Even for one of the NXGEN shows he was only shown in highlights. At the time he and other members of his team where also very vocal on Twitter about his displeasure about the way he was being handled by matchroom. Okolie, is hardly one of Hearns blue chip prospects either. In reality they probably had to fight each other as there are only monsters above them and even then there’s probably not a massive amount of money for those fights so an all London fight is a no brainer.

As for Taylor - Davies it was Cyclone who came up with the big money for that- Hearns offer was blown out of the water and he was unwilling to match them.

Whether people rate him or not, Yarde is probably Franks top prospect and by the sounds of it he is also contracted to BT along with Franks other top fighters. There is no way that frank can allow Yarde to fight on sky.

As for Buatsi fighting on Sky it’s okay for Hearn to say that in theory but the reality will no doubt be very different. He wasn’t happy for Buglioni to fight over there, he came up with every excuse under the sun.

Buatsi is an Olympic medalist who is willing to call out names but not fight them. I don't think Yarde is calling anyone out, he's just doing his own thing and Tunde has said several times they're "not going to rush him".

    The Matchroom hypocrisy.

Hang on why dont YOU want to see Buatsi v Yarde. I like that matchup a lot both got power, London Boys, Hearn and Warren in a Press Conference(Will be Hilarious), both have offensive styles.Brilliant Matchup. Hearn has said Buatsi can fight on BT under a Frank Warren Promotion so it's either Warren or Yarde who dont want the fight

I’ve said earlier in the thread that I would like to see the fight.

I just know it’s not going to happen. There’s is not enough money in the fight at the moment for the fighters for one, Warren and Eddie won’t work together, they’re both on different channels and dispite what Hearn is saying, neither he or Joshua’s management AJ Boxing would allow him to fight on BT either for £40 odd K

If you choose to disregard all convention wisdom and think that Eddie is not playing the publicity/BS card then fair enough

The issue with Yarde is that he has now developed a reputation for turning down / avoiding fights and that's what people are going to see him as moving forward, whether they were his decisions or not.

Perhaps if Hearn had actually made an offer. He did say he would put a big offer in "after the summer". He didn't say which summer.

Well yeah, you could look at it like but at the same time to be fair people need to be objective and look at things case by case.

For example, Beterbiev v Johnson- this forum was lit up with criticism for frank/ Yarde when they passed on the opportunity to have that fight. Plus Hearn was giving it the big un...Well, I’ve just seen an interview with Hearn and he said the fight isn’t yet confirmed Because of a legal dispute that Beterbiev has and what’s more if the fight goes to purse bids as expected, Johnson would only get 15%..I’m pretty certain the fight won’t end up happening from Hearns tone, but let’s see.

And if it doesn’t, I will expect to see Johnson v Buatsi this year since Eddie says that Joshua is ready for the step up.
