Why? See this is what annoys me about some of these heavyweights Ruiz ran Parker VERY close He didn't take a beating, he wasn't outclassed, we KNOW he is levels above kevin johnson so why this waste of time, its not like he should need his confidence rebuilt.
He needs some fights so I'm okay with it. If Parker kicks off a US campaign, a rematch with Andy Ruiz would make sense (and presumably dollars if it headlines on ESPN). Give Andy the Joseph Parker v Bryant Jennings winner for the Top Rank heavyweight championship.
Yeah, but I don't rate Ruiz terribly high. Just good hand speed and somewhat heavy handed. That maybe more of parkers limitations more than anything else if he's nearly on the same level as fat Andy.
I would not say that Parker is bad, but he is one dimensional. Joshua vs Parker was a really close fight but Joshua just seemed a step ahead. To me it looked like Joshua was comfortable and didn't really need to switch gears. Meanwhile Parker gave it his best shot without risking a KO (he did go on the offensive on a few occasions and had success).

So Ruiz Jr lost tons of weight then piled it all back on again. What a fool! The main thing that let him down vs Parker was his lack of conditioning.... You just can’t help some boxers. He has that self destruct button
From a technical standpoint, he looks fine. But like i said, hes one dimensional. Hes "looked like garbage" because he fights in one gear. I dont know what happened but Parker turned into a pure boxer, but hes quite limited. Compare the Minto and Cojanu fights. Completely different boxers(Parker, that is).
