Can a fight truly ever be a draw?

Always seems to be controversy whenever a fight is called a draw. Why give the judges the luxury. Boxing fans deserve a winner and a loser.

Any examples of a legitimate clean cut draw?

Canelo and GGG wasn't a draw, no matter which side you're on, I don't think anyone can say 'yep 100% positively an absolutely even fight'

Disregard the notion that it sets up a rematch, we are seeing first hand with Canelo and GGG that rematches aren't always guarenteed to happen.

    Whats wrong with a draw?
Stevenson-Jack was a good call. And no one really cried about Broner-Vargas.
And Ortiz-Alexander was fair as well.

Fights can still be a draw with thirteen rounds.

115-113 after 12 and the losing fighter scores a flash in the thirteenth, draw.

So you enjoy draws? If you paid $500 to see a championship fight, you'd walk away happy with a draw?

    Because draws happen so often?
Adding an additional round because we absolutely must have a looser seems odd.
Yes, i would be somewhat disappointed if i paid good money(be it tickets or PPV) and the end result was a draw, but if the fight was good and the end result correct, then whats so bad about it?

And no, it's not that i enjoy a draw, but it´s that i enjoy a fair decision.

Well in the example I gave it's any fight where the result is 7-6 with one KD.

I think if you're going to change the rules to help eliminate draws, just go ahead and introduce a box-off. An additional round to decide the fight. You'd have to get the cards in quicker but it's doable.

Me, I'd just leave it the way it is, but that's me.

    Would work well for tournaments.
Whats the system the WBSS uses? I think it's even better.
Now this is how you avoid a draw!

Or start implementing 5 judges. No reason to have only 3, as we can see it doesn´t work. (Definitely should test out the 5 judge system)

I recall some fights having a one round box off. Not a good idea....the boxers cool down while waiting for the decision ...might cramp up. Plus it Takes way too long.

13 is unlucky. Let's make it 15 and call it a day.

Nothing wrong with a draw if that fairly reflects the fight. Sometime it's the right result. Plus they can always do it again for more money which keeps the promoters happy...

I don't like draws either, it's an inconclusive result and it just feels neither here nor there. If you spend all that time making the fight happen, promoting it etc and then we walk away with no winner. Just doesn't feel right to me.

Also, it's often used to "soften" robberies, keeps the champ undefeated/lets him retain his belts and fans won't get mad. Win/win situation and you see that all the time.
