Glover? You gotta be kidding me? I know he seems to be the flavour of the month at the moment but he’s as overrated as hell as an actor plus he looks like a weasel compared to Johnson.

Aww, who would you get to play Sam L though? It would have to be the elf from Bad Santa.

Glover is an actor, a comedian, and a guy with some charisma. He can bulk up a bit for the role. So he's 5'9" tall. Just put him with guys around that size in the ring, problem solved.

Stallone himself is on the short side, yet he portrayed the heavyweight champion of the world.

Doubt if it's going to be a particularly honest portrayal. Johnson was a complex character: he had some redeemingly noble traits, but was also a bit of a scumbag in his personal life. I highly doubt whether Stallone will delve into the nuance of that at all.

In that case Stallone can cast himself as fat old John L Sullivan

Nah, Johnson actually spoke clearly. Speaking clearly was never Stallone's thing.

Who would you pick for the role?

Why should they be presented as villains?

Will Smith now he’s around 50 looks mature enough to play Johnson who even when he was young never looked particularly young. Probably due to the life he lived and the times that he lived in lol. But yeah Smith has the experienced acting gravitas and no longer relies on the youthful brashness that was needed when he played Ali.

Because every good movie needs a villain?

I’m pretty sure Stallone will screw this up. I imagine he’ll make Johnson a hero (think Rocky) instead of a complicated person (Raging Bull).
