This is why this thread is so important and why it SHOULD be stickied once again. We still have a sizable amount of ******s who think TKO6 should be disputed LMFAO
1. They never ever disputed the fight result! 2. They can order whatever fight they want, fact is Lewis was fat/old/lazy/out of shape and still won that fight. He had every reason to retire.
they didnt. if you write shyt, your stock on the forum goes down, surely you are awareof that? you are simply referring to the general wbc rule that a defence must be made inside 12 months vs the top contender.
No, he lost TD6 (4-2 on three cards) per the wbc rules on illegal grazing and hit and holds. Which why his ass retired in disgrace.
No they didn't. No rematch was ordered due to the outcome of the first fight. The WBC accepted the outcome as legitimate. If the WBC had ordered a rematch then Vitali would not have had to fight Kirk Johnson in December 2003 to earn the mandatory spot.
Wrong. Lewis insisted Vitali fight Johnson to prove he was uninjured or some bull. Dug in his heels. And then quit (ran away) like a little beotch when Vitali smashed the guy.
OH really? It says TKO6! Not TD6. Fact is: It was a perfect stoppage, did you want Vits to retire blind?!
Indeed, I'm from the vein of thought or belief that I think Vitali whilst horrifically injured was on his way to winning, however as we know its not set in concrete and I have no argument with anyone who believes that Lewis was on his way to winning. It was a great heavyweight fight and one in which it was a shame that we never got to see it again.
So you jumped into a conversation that had nothing to do with you and still you do not know what you are talking about. Great way of embarrassing yourself. So how does one get to the figure of "barely 80%"? What is the mathematical equation?
You're wrong. When Vitali was cleared to fight he approached Lewis's camp to negotiate a deal but negotiations broke down with Lewis deciding he didn't want to fight again in 2003: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2003-08-05/lewis-will-not-fight-again-this-year-says-klitschko/1460018 ...A December 6 date had been tentatively set for a rematch of their June 21 fight in Los Angeles that ended with Lewis scoring a sixth-round technical knockout over Klitschko, who was badly cut above and below his left eye. But according to Klaus-Peter Kohl, chief executive for Universum, Klitschko's German-based promoter, Lewis has informed them he has no plans to fight again this year... Vitali having failed to work out a deal with Lewis, the WBC arranged for him to fight an eliminator against Johnson to become the new mandatory: https://web.kitsapsun.com/archive/2003/12-05/338849_johnson_offers_plan_to_fight_jo.html ...For Klitschko, it's a necessary step back after his loss last June to WBC heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis. Subbing for an injured Johnson, he was ahead on all three scorecards when he was stopped by a cut in the sixth round. Klitschko hoped for an immediate rematch but Lewis decided to sit out the remainder of the year. Not wanting to wait around, Klitschko agreed to fight Johnson in a 12-round WBC eliminator with the winner becoming a mandatory challenger for Lewis, if Lewis decides to fight again. Should the title become vacant, the Klitschko-Johnson winner would be in position to claim it.... It is true that Lewis requested Vitali be assessed by an independent doctor to see whether he had fully healed or not, but it is not true that Lewis demanded Vitali fight Johnson to prove it. Which brings us back to the point, the WBC did not order Lewis to fight Vitali in a rematch until after Vitali won the eliminator against Johnson in December 2003, and it is inaccurate to claim that they ordered a rematch because they disputed the outcome of the fight in June of that year.
I'm not claiming nothing of the sort troll, what I am saying which there is evidence of, is that prior to Vitali, Lewis was going to continue to fight....he was like a fine wine....he tried to get the ghost of Tyson into the ring for another mismatch for the $$$$$. Post Vitali he retired, because whether you like it or not troll, Lewis was taken to the brink and he didn't fancy going there again, if he did he would have fought Vitali in a very lucrative rematch. NOW IF Lewis going into the fight with Vitali had already said it was to be his last fight or something of that nature then its a completely different scenario...its really broken down simply for inferior trolls like yourself.
you think the guy had a mathematical equation? really? or was he postulating that Lewis wasnt, at 37, 100% anymore. hmm lets see...i think.... errr.....
But in Lewis' own words he was like a fine wine, only getting better with age....now its easy to look good against sub par, flawed opposition which is what he was up against prior to Vitali since his fight from Holyfield. Its really simple even a simpleton like you should be able to see.
