Plus, at that point, most people had written Wlad off. He had losses to Sanders and Brewster, and according to Steward, even Vitali was losing faith in Wladimir at this time. According to Emanuel, him and Wlad were the only ones who still believed Wlad could go onto to achieve greatness at that point.

I think the Judah win is absolutely a defining victory for Tszyu. At least in my eyes.

My bad! 1 more. Whoever edit this- did a good job. It highlights a few things.
    1. Peter never really learned to throw straight punches, so Wlad had to take a lot of head shots
    2. Peter was so strong on the inside, he forced Wlad to fight outside so he couldn't be Clinchko like he wanted to! Man he adapted and survived.

Great drummer kickin azz in the music for the video.

Orlando Canizales. Viewed by many as one of the greatest bantamweights in history, but doesn't really have a stand-out win on his record.

The reason it's Peter I for me, is because his career was quite literally on the line that night, and he overcame a good deal of adversity to hold on. Wlad was doing a good job boxing, but he still had that look of panic we had seen previously. And getting dropped three times, that to me was Wlad's defining moment, and perhaps also the defining moment of the Wlad-Emanuel duo.

I don't personally rate the Byrd rematch very highly, because at that point I believed Wlad was a stylistic nightmare for Byrd, which proved true again. But perhaps I'm selling Wlad short here, because I did have a high opinion of Byrd on the whole.

The Povetkin fight, as you mentioned, was horrific. I suppose you could maybe make the case that Chagaev or Haye should be in consideration, but for me - Peter I is the fight that really changed everything for Wlad.

    Lennox ?
His signature fight should've been Bowe.
His Holyfield/ Tyson wins were when they were past their best.
Not Lennox's fault but thats how it was.

Yeah, Judah wound up becoming lineal at WW, and it was a 140lb unification fight. Guess that's enough to be considered a signature win.

El finito Lopez is always considered in p4p talk, but never had that opponent to really put him up there.

signature wins are important. the fab four all had them. Hearns had Cuevas.Duran and Benitez and later Hill. Leonard had Duran,Benitez,Hearns and Hagler. Great ones. Duran had Leonard and Moore and Barkley, which the last 2 were not great fighters, but somehow they were signature wins. And Hagler had the Hearns fight, which the way that fight went it was enough to help his legacy and keep him always talked about. Hopkins had Tito.. Which was a great one, and the fact he was the underdog helps signature wins. Tyson? Winning the title I suppose at such a young age. Chavez.. maybe Rosario.. I thought Rosario would be too strong. Toney had Nunn. Nunn had Tate..
