Kirkland would be a good fight. Brooks should fight Charlo's cripple, yes, when Charlo beat a cripple it made him mandatory, that was at middleweight, but then Charlo fought Pee Wee Herman who was a jr. middleweight who can't fight at all, however Charlo got praised for beating a cripple who could not walk across the ring, then Pee Wee?! If Charlo can do it, then so should Brook, Brook needs a couple easy fights and just look at all the praise Charlo got for beating a cripple who could not walk, he became mandatory! I say fight the cripple!

 

This is a difficult one, Brook needs a "name" that doesn't represent much danger.

Hmmm I'd stick Brook in with Margarito, old yes, durable errr yeah, a "name" yeah, risk.. at his age not huge in my opinion.

If Brook can't beat Margarito then he has no business going anywhere near Hurd.

 

That might work and I doubt Brook would struggle at all there. Margarito needed some home cooking to beat Carson Jones who Brook beat easily the second time.

If they aren't looking to cash out on Eggington then how about Liam Williams?

 

Margarito is done.. like so far shot as too be a nonentity.
The higher weight removes all his advantages and his eye is ruined. Could see the board refusing that kinda fight. In fact, boxrec reckons the California board already have him suspended.

Williams would be a decent fight but Brook probably wants someone with more a name to keep his profile up for an eventual shot at whoever the weakest belt holder is before taking on a charlo, lara etc

 

If Brook remotely struggled with Margarito then he needs to hang them up, Margarito is shot to pieces.

Yeah, I believe Brook would run right through Eggington and Barry Hearn has a little thing for Sam so I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Liam Williams is possible I suppose.

 

Personally I would prefer to see Brook seriously tested at the weight, I believe at this stage its pointless having this sort of "no danger" fight but Hearn wants to keep him and Khan winning to hopefully (finally) make that fight.

Margarito is just a "name" and I agree with you, he looks shot to pieces, I still think the BBBofC would allow it, I've seen far worse.

 

Who knows, he is finished.

 

I wish they could just get the Khan fight out of the way so Brook could focus on 154, I've got no interest in seeing Brook fight Khan at 147 or anyone else for that matter, which is where I believe the fight will take place.

 

people are buying into what hearn and brook are saying imo soon as they get the khan fight brooks done his not fighting any on the top fighters at light middle

Over 3 months after Kell barely broke sweat v Rabchenko still no name has been decided for next fight..!!!!

This more or less sums up Brooks career for me ,as soon as he made it to World level for whatever reason became inactive then when he does fight he is jumping between almost bums to Elite level !!you cannot switch on and off like that imo...

If his next fight is a decent 'name'he will want a 10 week camp so even if a fight is arranged today it will probably be pushing September before it happens.

It will be Eggington imo

This is awful, he said he wanted somebody for Brook between Rabchenko and Hurd, he has got somebody between Peter McDonagh and Ashley Theophane.

To be honest I really can't be bothered to abuse this fight, it's not worth abuse.
