If you want an example of Pure guts & determination try Ali who fought TEN rounds against Ken Norton with a broken jaw

LMFAO this thread needs to be sticked again

    @IntentionalButt

    Why was it even unsticked?

This thread is 100% 1st page material. The amount of delusion is insane, it never leaves the 1st page anyways after it gets bumped. There's no point of not stickying this, the insanity still floods this thread/forum, people STILL believe that TKO6 is not true.

    Ai..

I already posted this in another thread than Chris Byrd's 3 best wins are at least on the same level as Lennox Lewis' 3 best wins.

Byrd made Vitali quit after 9 rounds, and Vitali later admitted that his injury was caused by a missed puch (credit must go to Byrd's defense). Vitali outlanded Byrd by much slimmer marging than he outlanded Lewis, according to CompuBox. He outlanded Byrd 132 to 125 in 9 rounds, while he outlanded Lewis 152 to 102 in 6 rounds. Vitali wanted to continue against Lewis and he didn't want to continue against Byrd.

Also Byrd beat Holyfield much, much easier than Lewis did (albeit even more faded version).

Lewis beat Tua by a wider margin than Byrd, but Tua was in much better shape against Chris - he weighed 12 pounds less (233 against Byrd, 245 against Lewis).

The stoppage in Lewis/Vitali wasn't premature. It could have been stopped a round or two sooner and it would have been justified. The cuts Vitali suffered in that fight are some of the worst cuts ever in boxing. He had a deep cut across his cheek, another deep cut over his eyebrow and another one on his lip.

This: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=v...AUICigB&biw=1172&bih=654#imgrc=f4yGxHu2H7ecSM: justifies a doctor's stoppage no matter what way you look at it.

As to which is more impressive, Lewis or Byrd, I kind of get where you're coming from but, for me, it is more impressive to force a stoppage by inflicting so much damage that the fighter cant safely continue than it is for that fighter just to decide he doesn't want to fight any more.

If Vitali had wanted to he could probably have seen out the fight against Byrd to it's finish and retained his WBO title - he just chose not to - whereas the fight against Lewis was never going to go the distance, one of them was going to get stopped and, on the night, Lewis was the more potent puncher and inflicted more damage.

This is the difference - against Byrd, Vitali had the ability to win the fight but lacked the heart, against Lewis, on that night, he had the heart but lacked the ability.

I respectfully disagree with you. In both cases Vitali was in danger of getting career-ending injury, but Vitali wanted to continue against Lewis and didn't want to continue against Byrd, so he must have felt that his shoulder injury was more dangerous to him.

The fight had to be stopped. If it had been allowed to carry on Vitali could have lost his eye I'm sure no one would want to see that. It happened in a fair fight with no wrong doing on either part so the result is Fair.
As for Lennox retiring. Both his lovely wife & his Mother, both named Violet by the way, had been harassing him to retire for
a long time. In my opinion he chose the right time
You claim he should have stayed to fight a rematch but you must remember Lennox was denied the fight with Riddick Bowe he;d earned by beating Razor Ruddick. The fight was agrees upon & signed but Newman & Bowe renaged on the deal. to fight Dokes & Ferguson. That was a BLATANT DUCK !!!!

Everyone dealt with it including Lennox. He knew it was his own fault he was partying with Clooney & Pitt instead of training. The KO in the rematch was perfect retribution.
All credit to Rahman for taking advantage though

Except Hasim isn't Ukranian so none of your cheerleading.

All hail Sir Lewis - still getting casuals triggered all these years later.
