True - but 'enry's hammer nearly got the job done and that could have changed everything hence my nomination. An under appreciated legend of the sport IMO.
Well he got up and was in such a state that his trainer cut the glove to buy him time out of concern And enry was just a midget bum and ali was the goat so it was a good shot considering. Even Ali himself admitted that shot messed him up for a minute there.
GGG finishing Rubio. I´ve never seen other fighters use a "downward hook" effectively, and judging by the look on Rubio´s face neither had he. Also Tua´s left hook was pure violence, just pick a victim.
Tommy Morrison's Left hook on Ruddock was shocking and out of the blue when Morrison himself was hurt. Could watch it over and over and never tired of it. Donaire's counter left hook against Montiel was so perfectly timed, Montiel never saw it coming. Another I could watch over and over.
It’s a myth that it saved him. It bought a few seconds at best. A good poster here years ago proved it.
Marciano - Walcott 1 No...actually the hook Walcott knives out Ezzard Charles with just for the walking style he did just before he threw it.
Walcott hook on Ezzard was about as nice as left hooks get. It was set up perfectly and executed perfectly. Also, I don't think Mares ever truly recovered from the Gonzalez hook that ended their fight.
Off hand I would opt for Morrison's counter left hook on charging Ruddick at him! It was an example of not just technique but timing while evading a punch.
